A beautiful walled town on the water
Surrounded by towering fortress walls, which date back to the 16th Century, Peschiera del Garda is bursting with character. The centre of this ancient town is essentially two small islands, linked by bridge, at the mouth of the river Mincio.
You’ll find it’s easy to while away the day wandering cobbled streets, which are lined with boutique stores, or exploring the fortress architecture. Or, perhaps, tucking into a freshly prepared pizza at a waterfront pizzeria as you watch the tiny sail boats bobbing on the pretty canal that separates the islands.
