Mayrhofen

We were lucky enough to stay at Appartements Windschnur from 11th - 18th March. It is located in the centre and within a few hundred yards from the gondola to the Ahorn mountain and even less for the Penken gondolas. The views from the lifts are amazing and there are slopes to suit all abilities and fun children's areas. The Lechner family at the Windschnur are lovely - very friendly and helpful and the apartments are super clean, spacious and welcoming. There are restaurants to suit all tastes and everything we needed was close at hand. Mayrhofen has a lovely atmosphere and we would certainly like to return. The week wasn't long enough.

Wonderful Week at Windschnur

The location cannot be beaten for the Penken gondola, places to eat, bars and ski hire. The lady who runs it is very attentive and friendly. The apartments are finished superbly and have everything you need. In fact more than most things you need! Would definitely stay here again if going back to Mayrhofen. Everything you want and more from self catering ski apartments. 

Excellent

Lovely apartment in a great location for summer or winter breaks. Whilst the inside is simple but functional there wasn't anything missing. Our apartment would sleep six which may be a little cramped for six adults with ski gear but only for the fact that there is only one bathroom. The bedrooms and lounge/dining/kitchen were all very spacious. We arrived late following a drive from Munich but very clear instructions were left on the door for us to let ourselves in. There is a car park at the rear. The apartment and all of the equipment in the kitchen were pristinely clean. Even though we were in the centre of town we did not find it noisy, although it perhaps could be in the full swing of the winter season. You are a short walk from one of the main cable cars and only a little further from the second. All other amenities such as bars and restaurants are on the doorstep. Great place and would definitely use again.

Central Location

I stayed in this Aparthotel as a 'snowhome' guest (you know the type, random, assign on arrival thing) and boy did I luck out! Visiting with family and young daughter (2yrs) the owners placed us in a mini suite with its own kitchenette, this made our lives much much easier! it isn't glamorous but it is just what you need! The Owners sourced a cot for us when our tour operator copped out (at no extra cost!), and were pleasant and amenable through the entire stay.less than 1 mins walk to the PenkenBahn and in the centre of town but quiet, this is a little haven in the middle of the action. If I could find a tour operator who would guarantee this as my accommodation I would book with them!!
