Canalta Lodge Banff

We stayed for a couple of nights while staying in Banff, on our way through to Nelson.

We really liked the hotel. The room was comfy , twin double beds. They are happy to service the rooms on request. The staff on reception were super helpful from helping us park for free, to additional kettle etc. Room has fridge and microwave , we ate out first night, and ate in second night to manage costs. 

Hot tubs and sauna are a nice touch.  The coffee area  means you can grab a coffee / hot chocolate and use the communal area.  Breakfast is included, it isn't gourmet, but its free and sets you up for the day.

We used the laundry service on site.

Its a 20 minute walk into the centre of Banff and nice to be a little seperated from the crowds.

A nice stay

Great staff in a practical well equipped hotel

A poor experience at a noisy hotel. If you are unlucky enough to have a room overlooking the hot tub it is extremely noisy. The hotel provides ear plugs which is a give away! The breakfast area and food are poor. Reception staff are mostly seasonal students and lacking in local knowledge. On the plus side the bedrooms are clean with good linen and comfy beds. Motel standard.

A very noisy hotel staffed by inexperienced students for the season with mostly limited local knowledge. The sitting and eating areas / cafe equivalent to a motel diner - poor food at breakfast. If you are unlucky enough to stay in a room overlooking the hot tub - v noisy. A give away is the hotel provides ear plugs!!

On the plus side the bedrooms are very clean and beds comfy. 
Good towels in the bathroom.
Disappointing overall given the cost and reviews.

Excellent rooms, free breakfast, free s’mores at 4 pm.  Fireplaces in some rooms, hot tubs and sauna.  Best part?  The staff were just awesome!

Excellent experience on many fronts!

Stayed at the Canalta lodge for 3 nights 4-7th May and can not fault this hotel at all. The room was clean,spacious, comfortable bed and great amenities. The breakfast was lovely and had everything you could want to start your day. For me, the staff made this place, they were so friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much to ask. Added bonus was the laundry facilities which for $7 for a wash and dry was a touch. The hot tubs and sauna were getting a make over whilst we stayed but there was still one tub to use which is needed after a day of sightseeing and being on your feet. The bar/lounge/foyer was lovely and comfortable with two log fires burning, blankets to use should you need it and the added touch of complimentary smores between 4-7 which co-insided with Happy hour at the bar, win win. 
Overall, this hotel was amazing and I definitely would recommend it.
