St Moritz

Not an easy trek from the train station to the hotel.  Definitely recommend not walking if you have any mobility or breathing issues.  It is a steep climb, especially if moving with luggage.  The hotel is an old building, which can be appealing, but this one had an unpleasant odor like an unpleasant odor trying to mask an unpleasant odor.  The whole bed needed to be replaced several years ago.  The frame creaked and the mattress sagged. Our room was labelled a "mountain view".  Yes, we could see the top part of a mountain off in the distance passed the tops of many roofs.  The room locked with a key, from inside and out.  That means that when you are in your room you lock yourself in with a key.  That seemed like a very unsafe situation in case of a fire.  Thankfully we were only booked in for one night.

One night was long enough

A small hotel at the top of the hill above the train station.  The room was 

 Receptionist was friendly. Check in strictly at 3pm but luggage can be left in a rather small alcove to the side but it served its purpose for us.

Room was quite warm on arriving but thankfully a lovely cooling fan.  Bed was a foam type mattress and I slept quite well in it considering I was still getting over jet lag.  We understand from our agent, it's one of the cheaper rooms in St Moritz and with our disgusting exchange rate everything is expensive in Switzerland.  The hotel was quiet. 

We were leaving to catch an early train so did not partake of their breakfast .  But a small fridge would be useful to even place some small items.

The biggest disadvantage is its at almost the top of the hill but everything in this part of the town is uphill and downhill.  But the town is quaint enough, if a little filthy in the early hours of morning after people had simply left their rubbish overflowing in the village square all over the old cobbled streets.  It at least has a nice feel without the bustling city feel of cars everywhere.

Quaint hotel with great views.of the lake and mountains

Booked this room as it came with a good rating on booking.com but on the way to the hotel saw a lot of hotels that are not listed on booking.com which looked a lot better than this hotel. The design of the hotel is very old but the room is big with a good view out of the window. There is a funny smellin the oom. We had requested for electric kettle and tea items to be provided which the hotel did. Thr breakfast spread is very small with limited items. No fan in room even though the weather was warm.

Decent place if you like hotels in old buildings 

Nice stay in St. Moritz. Staff was friendly and room was clean and comfortable. There are several stores nearby and  we had a very nice room with a view to the lake. 
The railwaystation is quite near, just some climbling has to be done to get there.
