SImple and clean room. Beautiful view from room and breakfast room during winter. Around 15-20mins walk from Engelberg train station and town (restaurants and shop) need to walk past Shell), advisable to take free shuttle bus until 5pm from train station to Titlis Cable Car station and walk over to hotel in 3min! Slightly inconvenient to go to town for dinner if you don’t drive. Hotel staff is very friendly, but breakfast is very simple. A simple hotel with no food or room service except for breakfast. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly to help to check, recommend and book our paragliding trip and enquire about ski lessons.

Hotel Cathrin is a family run quaint, quiet and picturesque hotel.
The hosts were brilliant and the main lady, the owner, was nothing short of accommodating and helpful. The son was fantastic too, friendly and funny. 

We were lucky enough to have two sunny days in Engelberg during our stay. She advised us to stay within the area and get the cable cars to the mountains and do some hikes. Even in her age, you could tell she was a girl of the mountains - inspiring and mesmerizing! 

The area was quiet because I guess it isn't peak skiing season but there was still plenty to enjoy and see. Our room had a view of the mountains and relaxing sound of the stream. Breakfast was lovely and adequate too. Our host prepared our tea/coffee for us and gave us all a weather updates on the day. 

We would stay here again, even for the hospitality.

it is a mom and son run hotel - both are very friendly and accomodating. their staff too.

Most guests are individual travellers.

the rooms are smallish but fully functional.
The beds are very good.
and it is quiet at night. :-)

I choose this hotel as it is the nearest to the Titlis cable car: there is a shortcut and it is literally 2 minutes walk, which matters when you are wearing ski boots. The rooms are tiny but very clean and there is adequate storage that, if cleverly used, can accommodate everything a family of 3 needs for 4 day's skiing! The breakfast is very good quality buffet breakfast and the coffee is amazing. The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There is no restaurant nearby but the town centre is 5 minutes walk away (another shortcut through the railway station) and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.
