The Arrabelle at Vail Square, a RockResort

We stayed here years ago, and it was a nice hotel back then.  I struggled with making a decision where to stay in Vail for this trip.  Wish I had gone with my first choice.  Booked this time with a Platinum Amex card. No upgrade.  Second floor room with THE loudest toilet one could ever imagine.  Seriously, not kidding.  We travel all over the world and have never experienced anything like this.  Don’t bother trying to use Netflix or any other streaming app despite the fact it says you can connect . Just telling you now if you choose to stay here use your own device.  My husband is an IT executive, and he couldn’t get it to work.  Noticed another review from November stating the same thing.  Concierge never at their desk—maybe if you stop by around 3 or earlier.  In fact, we rarely saw anyone around the front desk or in the lobby in general.  The spa closes early, and just try to order something on the iPad in your room after 9.  Not going to happen.  Front desk told us to come down to get ice at 10:20 pm on a Friday night.  What?!? So I am paying over a thousand a night so I can go downstairs to get ice.  No bar or restaurant open here past 9. Rooftop pool and spa hot tubs are so hot that you can barely spend five minutes in them, and were in need of a good scrub.  Mold in our shower.  And water pressure is very light.  Takes forever to get anything delivered to your room.  Screaming children in our hallway super early in the morning.  Positives: a young man named Nicholas in Tavern on the Square and the drivers with the car service at night dropping you off at other restaurants because you definitely will not find anything open here to eat or drink unless you are a senior who eats at 4:30 or you have toddlers.  I suggest The Four Seasons if you are into luxury or possibly The Ritz.  Trust me, we visited several other hotels while we were here.  Most can’t even make a decent cocktail.  And yes, we are picky.  We spent well over a thousand dollars in the spa and hundreds on lunch at Tavern on the Square.  However, for the amount of money they charge here, you may as well put it toward a hotel who cares to do something for their customers.  It’s not going to happen here.  Good luck.

Better choices in Vail

Stayed a couple of nights in July 2025.

Staff were helpful and welcoming, including those involved in a meeting at the property of which I was a part.  The catering at the meeting events was certainly better than typical hotel catering.

Good location, right in Lionshead Village.  Close to trails and walkable to a small number of restaurants and coffee places in Lionshead Village.  Not too far of a walk over to the larger Vail Village, either.

The actual hotel was less nice than expected, particularly given the cost.  I was disappointed in the lack of daily housekeeping--at the room rates this place is charging, daily housekeeping should occur without question.

The room's decor was...odd.  It was Italianate, which wasn't really a good fit for the surroundings, and the room, while very large, was sparsely furnished and decorated, almost like the hotel ran out of money to actually buy furniture.  The television was very small for the size of the room.

The bathroom was large and in good working order.

Overall, certainly not a terrible experience, but also less than expected given the cost.  It seems the hotel would benefit from a renovation, freshening of its look, and more thoughtfully designed rooms.

Nice people, disappointing accommodations given price

The gentlemen staffing the skate rental place on the night of 12/31 was one of the best customer staffers I have seen in a while. What a nice guy, super friendly and helpful. Great attitude, I was really impressed.

Great Staff

My husband and I like to get away every fall to Vail, just him and I (without our kids).  The last time we stayed at the Arrabelle was two years ago, when it was amazing.  It has changed since then.  We just got home from two nights there, and I wish we would have stayed elsewhere.  I was so looking forward to the big delicious breakfast, the delicious cookies they would set out for guests, the 24 hour coffee bar, the sparkling water machine, etc.  All of that was not to be had on this visit.  I didn’t realize until we got there that the usual buffet breakfast, which was so good in the past, would not be offered, as the restaurant was closed for renovation until the middle of November.   They did offer a complimentary breakfast at The Belle, which was cute, and good, but not what I was expecting.  You get a coffee or other drink, a breakfast sandwich, and a pastry.  I wish that would have been more clearly communicated.   Also, we were looking forward to watching some movies in our room, but the screen mirroring wasn’t working.  There is a free movie program, but the choices were not very good.   There wasn’t any way to access Amazon or Netflix.  I called and they told me they should have the screen mirroring working by our second day, but that wasn’t the case.   Had to just watch our movie on our device.   The Arrabelle was clean and pretty, but it just didn’t have all the extras it used to, and was lacking a few things we were expecting.   For our annual special getaway, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for us.

Not what it used to be

I visited The Arrabelle in October for a corporate retreat, and we had a fantastic stay. The hotel team did an excellent job hosting the event and making the entire weekend seamless.

I brought my husband, our one-year-old, and my mother to help with babysitting while we attended dinners. Lauren Skidmore went above and beyond to make sure our room setup worked perfectly for our family. She even arranged a crib and special amenities for the baby.

The entire staff was kind, responsive, and attentive throughout our stay. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, we’ll definitely be back!
