We were there for a wedding. The rooms are very dated. The elevator in our building made a very loud and prolonged vibration every time we rode in it - it felt unsafe.  When we checked in, I asked "are we overlooking the parking lot?" and the guy said no, but when we got to our room, it was indeed overlooking the parking lot and there was a bus that stopped about every 5-10 minutes right under our window and made a loud beeping sound. Luckily the property was not sold out, and we were able to change rooms. What was odd was that the day before we arrived, they called and said "good news! We've upgraded you to a 2 bedroom!" which was what the parking lot room was, but when we asked to not overlook the lot, they put us in a smaller room. That's fine, but the whole thing was kind of odd. We had a slight discount because of the wedding block rate, but we still paid over $300/night (in the off season!), and it's not even remotely worth that. I doubt I'll be returning to this property. It is just really poorly maintained. Really the only plus about this property is the location.

Wife and I visited the Village in June.  Weather was beautiful: 80s in the day, about 50 in the morning.

Pros:
-Room was nice enough, although the living room TV was comically small.  TVs did not appear to have "smart TV" ability, so consider bringing your own Roku or AppleTV if you want to stream.

-Kitchen had enough utensils/pots/pans to be able to cook

-Close to excellent mountain biking trails.  There's a paved bike path from the Village down to the highway, cross the highway and continue on the trail toward the lake for another half mile.  You can access the Western States Trail when the paved path goes under the highway.  Take the WST up, and then the trail branches off with various options.  Not very technical, but steep and loose in spots.  Little creeks run next to the trail, and pretty soon you are deep into the forest in the Sierra Nevadas.  Bring mosquito repellent.  Note: talk to the front desk ahead of time about storing your bike in the room.  I got some conflicting info about whether it was allowed, although they ultimately said it was ok. 

-Underground parking is great

Cons:  
-Although the Village website says quiet hours are 10pm to 8am, Saturday and Sunday mornings before 5:30am someone wheeled a plastic cart through the village that rattled off each of the paver stones.  I got up and looked out the window on Sunday and it looked like an employee doing it.  I have no idea why the Village would allow someone make that kind of noise so early.  The Irish pub in the Village hosted a karaoke night that wrapped up at 1am on Sunday.  We could still hear the "singing" with our window closed and earplugs in, and they were loud when they left the pub.  

-When it's warm you'll need AC, but the AC unit is a floor unit in the dining room and it cannot be moved (it needs to connect to an exhaust port built into the wall).  Not much of the cool air gets to the bedroom, and we didn't want to open the bedroom window because the noise outside.  

-Food options in the Village were underwhelming.  I expected it to be expensive but the quality of the food was subpar.  

-Wifi in the room was weak.  

Conclusion:
We wanted a quiet getaway but it ended up feeling like we were staying on fraternity row.  For the price, we would have been better off renting a small house in a quiet neighborhood.  We love Tahoe but not the Village.  We won't be back, and it's a shame because this place has so much potential.

Too Loud

Check-in was efficient and courteous.  Room was nice and you can't beat the location.  Underground parking ='d a major plus.
Had a bizarre checkout, though.  The desk representative said he couldn't email my folio b/c I booked through Expedia.  I explained that I booked through Capital One Travel.  He informed ... "No - you booked through Expedia."  (Huh?)  
I explained I didn't but could he just email it to me?  He said because it was a 3rd party reservation he couldn't ... "We don't do it that way here."  I've never had this issue.  Every other hotel I've ever booked through Capital One happily just emailed it to me.  
So, I asked him to print it out, took a photo and emailed it to myself.  Nbd - he might need better training.
Just an odd ending to an otherwise pleasant stay at a nice hotel.

Nice hotel, great location, strange checkout

My partner and I were scheduled to stay at Palisades Tahoe Lodge from March 1-4, 2024. We paid over $2,600 for lodging and were very excited to stay and ski at Palisades. We booked our trip through our American Express card.

A little less than one week before our trip, we saw that a massive snowstorm was on its way to Tahoe. On February 26, we called Palisades to cancel the trip because we knew that the storm would prevent us from driving up to the hotel. Palisades refused to refund our money, citing their 14-day cancellation policy. As the day of the trip drew closer, we tried every day to persuade Palisades to refund our money. Even Palisades Lodge staff told us not to travel up to Tahoe, yet they refused to refund our money. We still have not received the money despite the fact that we never stayed in the hotel.

This was a much anticipated trip and not an insignificant amount of money for us. As a result, we won't choose Palisades Tahoe as a ski destination in the future.

Palisades Refused to Refund $2,600

The hotel is run down and dated. I would have been willing to ignore the deficiencies, however, if I hadn’t had such a negative interaction with the hotel front desk staff, specifically a man named Gabriel who was patronizing and condescending. I travel often and have never been treated more rudely at a hotel than I have by him. I was traveling for a work conference and there was confusion because my room had been booked under two reservations. When I checked in, I asked that they combine the reservations so I wouldn’t have to check out and then check back in and the (nice, friendly) person who checked me in told me it was taken care of. I was taking a nap mid-morning the following day during a break in the conference (adjusting to the time zone after an international trip) when he woke me up and told me I had made a mistake with my reservation and that I was in an upgraded room I hadn’t booked. I explained the above and he said they could do me a favor and not make me change rooms but that my husband had to come to front to fill out new paperwork before 1pm because they were changing the key codes. I explained that I didn’t request an upgrade but I did confirm when I checked in that I wouldn’t have to change rooms. He rattled off the features my upgraded room has that the room I supposedly booked does not — I told him that it was more important to me not to have interruptions which is why I confirmed at check in that the reservations were combined. He then asked to speak with my husband since I “didn’t know the situation.” He declined my request to speak with his boss. While what the hotel was offering was fine, the tone in which Gabriel used with me — implying I had done something wrong, was getting something from them for free, that I needed my husband to handle the reservation for me, that my husband needed to rearrange his schedule to go to the front desk etc, etc was outrageous. This was after we’d requested to change a five day reservation to three days prior to check-in and were denied a refund because we were outside their cancellation window (fair according to policy, but usually there’s some flexibility at established hotels, and combined with my experience with Gabriel is a good snapshot of their approach to customer disservice). I did not want to continue any part of my stay at the hotel after that interaction but couldn’t get any part of my money back. 10/10 do not recommend. It’s a serviceable place to stay while skiing but if you find yourself needing assistance from the front desk staff, good luck

Poor customer service

You'll be just steps from the mountain and in the heart of all the fun, including dining, shopping, events, and activities in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. Plus, you're just a short drive away from stunning Lake Tahoe! Almost all of our rooms have private balconies, full kitchens, and in-room fireplaces. You also can access all 8 of our outdoor hot tubs & free underground parking.
