We stay here, room 1422. Our trip was fantastic. The room was great. Very clean and up to date. The location was great, as it was right in center village. Close to the lifts and restaurants. The ski lockers were easy to access. Robin at the front desk was great at check in. She helped make our trip special for our daughter. Thanks Robin. If I had one complaint, it was that we had to pay for parking in the garage. I feel if I book at room here we should at least get one car free during our stay. Otherwise it was great and would definitely stay here again.

After having not skied in over 30 years I decided to join my sister's family on their annual ski trip.  Their destination was Winter Park.  I decided to drag my daughter along who had only skied a few times.  We took some lessons before we went and the skiing was great...but this isn't about the skiing.

When we decided to go to Winter Park we started to look for places to stay.  As were ski trip newbies we really didn't want to try and figure out the transportation so wanted to stay close.  When we arrived, even though I had watched  bunch of videos, I could not believe how convenient this was.  

The "room" was great.  A one bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room and then a bathroom between the two spaces.  A nice kitchen with everything you needed to make a meal.  We had purchased some food on the way in so we could make our breakfast each morning before heading out as well as have snacks when we returned at the end of the day.

We thought we'd take a break each day and return for lunch but we did that just the first day, realizing time on the mountain was too precious to miss so the last two days we grabbed some snacks on the mountain (and also consumed the Uncrustables we brought along).

I know there are "nicer" places at other resorts but for the money I'm not sure this can be beat.  You can tell the place isn't "new" but it was still in great shape.  The staff was friendly and it was so great to be able to walk over to the ski rental place (where they allow you to keep your rental skis overnight) each morning and grab your skis and head to the lifts.  I definitely didn't get my daily steps in because everything was so close.

We are now planning annual ski trips and I know the bar set by the Zephyr in terms of convenience and quality of stay will be incredibly hard to beat.  I'm guessing we will return again very soon.

Is this the greatest Slopeside Hotel?

What a really great mountain! This lodge is conveniently located at the base of the village steps from the gondola. The condo we stayed in was really nice compared to other resorts, we rented thru icon at the last minute and were happy with everything.
Parking is not included, you’ll pay about $25 extra per day plus resort fees and taxes, so don’t be shocked.
We found several places to eat, all were very good.
We are already booking another ski trip, we will likely explore more places to stay, just to compare pricing.

We note that it is a lodge, not a hotel as each condo is individually owned, therefore rental company, size, decor, upgrades and views can vary.  We would also note that Doc's Resaurant, the Sundog Taproom, and Trail's End market are all in the Riverside building of Zephyr accessible from the plaza.

Beautiful hotel. Its a bit old but everything was neat and clean. Check-in is not express as you have to get the keys to the condo from the lockers but check-out was just an text message away.  Hotel doesn't have a restaurant or minimart but there are more than enough restaurants in winter park. The hotel is right in the middle of the winter park village. There are ski lockers, a hot tub and an underground parking. The condo was large and very conformable. Had a small balcony with an amazing view of the village. Had all the amenities and kitchenet. Bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was also large but the shower pressure was too much. Sound proofing was great! Other than that everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the issues you had at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. We are sorry to hear that you felt financially taken advantage of.  As each condo is individually owned, each owner selects the rental management company they want to have rent out their unit.  When you book, you have a choice from whom you rent and if that business transaction was unsatisfactory, it is solely the rental company's responsibility. 

You mentioned that you worked with Winter Park Lodging; many owners have used them satifactorily over many years, but there are many alternative companies through whom you can book Zephyr condos.  You also mentioned the front desk, but they are associated with WP Resort Lodging (a division of the ski area), who does not represent the company you say you rented from.   

The HOA is responsible for the heat in the building and we endeavor to ensure that every condo is properly heated and rental companies normally do not rent units with heating issues.  The HOA has nothing whatsoever to do with reservations or billing.

The Zephyr Mountain Lodge Homeowners Association takes great pride in the building, and wants it to remain the favorite place to stay for visitors to Winter Park.

Great location. Right next to the gondola. Great ski in and ski out.
Kitchen contents minimal.
Overly expensive for condition of property.
Had to pay extra to park at the facility.
I paid $360 deposit on check in “that you get back within 6 weeks of your stay.”- Deposit never received, despite leaving condo in better condition than when we arrived.
I contacted Winter Park Lodging, whom I booked with and no response.
First night, we literally had NO heat- like sleeping in a barn. No discount or refund offered. Was given a space heater for the rest of the week.
One of two elevators for the building was broken for two solid days- Friday and Saturday during Spring Break season…
Overall, we enjoyed the skiing, but really get like we had been taken advantage of financially and the service we received when reporting issues was poor. Front desk blames HOA, HOA blames reservations.
Get your act together, Zephyr!


Overall not pleased

Zephyr Mountain Lodge is the premier ski-in/ski-out facility at Winter Park Ski Area. Comprised of 2 buildings, Slopeside and Riverside, the lodge has a total of 230 condominiums in 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom configurations. Each condo is privately owned by Winter Park enthusiasts and rental units are offered through several rental management companies in the Winter Park area. We hope you enjoy your stay!
