An intermediate’s playground. Lenk is a ‘traditionally Swiss’ ski resort in the Simmental region of the Swiss Alps. It’s part of the interconnected Adelboden-Lenk ski area which has 148km of pistes. Wide, cruisy blues and more challenging reds will more than occupy you for your trip. But tougher challenges are available on the Chuenisbärgli, home of the World Cup track. Only here for a long weekend? No problem. The lift system has recently undergone a facelift so you can spend less time sitting and more time shredding. This area also has some of the best cross-country trails in Switzerland due to its width and flatness. A quick heads up for snowboarders, be ready for some extended ‘flat’ areas on linking trails. You may need to scoot your board or find a friendly skier to give you a tow. Off the slopes you’ve got plenty to fill your time including an ice rink, thermal spas and plenty of shops to get your Swiss chocolate fix.
