The star attractions? And when you've worked an appetite? Over 60 alpine huts keep walkers fuelled with food along the way.
Families will love the themed trails and kids’ climbing routes around the Gaisberg, while the multi-day KAT Walk long-distance trail connects the wider valley for those after something really epic. Hikes in Kitzbühel genuinely suit every pace - it’s just that kind of place.

How to get around Kitzbühel

How our self-guided Kitzbühel walking holidays work:

Our self-guided trips let you set your own pace, from the length of your stay, to how far you walk each day. But if you’re used to group or guided holidays, you might be wondering how you’ll get around? Well, it’s easy…

Getting to and around town:

Your airport transfer is included with your trip. Once there, you’ll find Kitzbühel to be a beautifully preserved medieval market town with a lively pedestrian centre, excellent restaurants, and a relaxed summer buzz. Trails start right from the edge of town, and the resort’s five main summer gondolas - known as the “Big 5” - are all within easy reach.

Getting to your walks and hikes:

The Big 5 lifts - Hahnenkammbahn, Hornbahn, Panoramabahn, Gaisberg, and Fleckalbahn - give you easy access to trail networks across the Kitzbühel Alps, all free with the Kitzbühel Guest Card. Local trains and buses also link up St. Johann in Tirol, Innsbruck, and Salzburg for great day trips.
