Stroll among the animals
Don’t leave it to chance to spot alpine wildlife, check out Parc de Merlet. This free-roaming animal park has a fabulous location overlooking the valley. Follow the leafy park trails to spot deer, lamas, ibex, mouflon, marmots, and more.
Ride a retro tramway
All aboard the Tramway du Mont Blanc! This legendary rail line runs from nearby Le Fayet up to ‘the eagle’s nest’, which is also a start point for climbing Mont Blanc. Views over Bionnassay glacier and Chamonix valley are spectacular.
Gorgeous gorge walking
The walking routes in this region are simply stunning, but for an alternative to the mountains, try the Gorges de la Diosaz. This family-friendly route takes you along a suspended walkway that follows the flowing river along the gorge.
BBQ by the lake
Spend a sunny afternoon relaxing by Lac des Chavants. The picturesque fishing lake is ideal for a picnic or BBQ, thanks to inspiring views of the Mont Blanc massif. What’s more, there’s a playground, so kids (and parents) are happy.
Tree swinging
Venture into the forest of Mont Blanc and discover the treetop adventure park. Head up into the trees and explore a network of rope bridges, ziplines, and other suspended obstacles. All this while you’re securely fastened to a safety line.
River riding
