We loved this flat in Bernastrasse.  It was clean & comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 5. It also had wifi & cable TV.  It was only 5 minutes away from a large supermarket & Interlaken West train station.  We would definitely go back.

We stayed for 8 days in 2013. The weather was very bad, and we missed a good amount of sight seeing due to rain. The day before last, we wanted to take permission from the owner if she would allow us to check out at 2:00pm instead of 11:00 am. She was not there, and her adult son, who opened the door, said it was not a problem. Since he seemed kind, we said to him that we will definitely be out by 5:00pm.

Next day, when we reach at 5:00 pm, we see our luggage thrown out of the house. The women's mother came and screamed at me and snatched the door key. The woman apologized for her mother's behavior, and said that check out was 11:00 am. To that we answered that her son had given us the nod. She replied that he does not manage the place.

I wanted to let her know that in this case- she or her representative should be available to talk to the guests. We were shocked that some one can just scatter our luggage outside on the road.

I gave this some thought before posting it. We also told her that she knew that we had bad weather for the entire week, so we wanted to take opportunity on the last day, since it did not rain that day. But I guess she did not understand.

Now thinking of it- I feel that though I had booked with her; it would have been better to cancel last minute (by then we knew the weather would be bad), and let her have an empty apartment for the week, rather than showing up and having luggage thrown out and being humiliated for checking out late after a family member had given the nod. Being kind to her did not work.

Though the place is centrally located, the mother has quite a rage.

We booked this place from the internet. We did not have to pay anything in advance - paid the total amount in Interlaken. The apartment itself is well maintained. We were a group of 8 so we booked the ground and first floor (2 apartments). The only problem is that the ground floor apartment has only one bathroom. The location is walking distance from train station. Kitchen is very well equipped. The best part is the Hostess - Daniela. We had a problem with our return flight - it was delayed by 2 days - The hostess offered us alternative accommodation in her another apartment and she took us there in her car!!

1. Superb location and a wonderful and helpful host.
2. No problems in checking in, getting Wi-Fi or taking printouts.
3. Great value for money.
4. Only issue is that the apartment flooring seems to sag a little, but it is not a problem.
In a nutshell, a highly recommended place to live  for a family at a reasonable price

My 2 cents and 4 lines review on Silvias Apartment

My husband and 3 daughters stayed at Silvia's apartments recently and were were so impressed with the accomodation. The apartment is extremely clean and very well-equiped. It is in a quiet location and very close to the train station. We spent our days exploring the local mountains and it was so good to come back to this apartment and relax. Our children LOVED the tv with english-speaking kids shows. Free WIFI was also appreciated.
Daniela, who managed the apartments was so friendly and helpful. She even did our washing for us which we really appreciated. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We have very fond memories and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this apartment. Thank-you very much again.
