A regular visitor,and have been for a number of years.
Just back from a 6 day stay,and happy as ever.
We got the room for less than £40,out of season,offering terrific value for self catering that sleeps up to 4 people.
There is free parking,which is safe to leave a car,and basic toilet/cooking/cleaning products were already there,at least to see you through till you could purchase your own.
Love the position near the center of town,and views to die for!

We are regulars here,and for good reason.A superb position near the center of the town.
Also excellent value for money,sleeps 3/4 and has cooking facilities.
Comfort levels are generous,and staff helpful.

We spent Christmas week at Balcons Du Soleil, and we really had a fantastic week! The hotel is basic, as you would expect, but very clean, comfortable and in a great spot.  The reception team were always friendly and helpful, and spoke very good English. Our studio for four people was on the forth floor, and had a lovely view of the mountains from the balcony.  Clean and comfortable, supplied with kitchenware and ample plates/glasses etc for four people. The sofa bed in the living area was surprisingly comfortable, and the bunk bed area for the children was just great, being able to close the door so the kids can sleep and you can enjoy your evening is great! The town itself is lovely, very typically 'French', a Carrefour Contact supermarket is about ten minutes walk, there is a great Charcuterie, selling rotisserie chickens that were really good.  Plenty of bars, cafés and shops including a great toy shop, and ample skiing equipment stores to rent and buy clothing and equipment.  TheTelecabine (cable car) up to the piste is about a ten minute walk from the hotel.  We were a little nervous booking a two star, but having read great reviews decided to take the plunge and we were not disappointed. Font Romeu is a beautiful town, and a great escape into real France, we were the only Brits we saw for the whole week!

Fabulous location, everything you need

We stayed in this residence for our family winter holiday. We arrived late due to traffic. The gentleman behind the activities desk was not helpful. As the reception had just closed there was very little information regarding checking in, car parking etc. Traditional shrug of the shoulders when we asked about car parking spaces. We eventually paid an additional 44euros for the last remaining underground parking space (which was incredibly tight). Our room was ok but not a great view. It was missing bedding and some of the cups/plates were dirty and the sink was blocked. The contact tel phone number to request help was answered by an assistant sitting in the Alps ! so told we had to wait till the morning to request help. The company advertise the cable car for the slopes is only 300m away. True but would suggest the residence desperately needs a shuttle (especially for families with young children). Not environmentally friendly but we ended up driving with skis and equipment to the closer public car park. To be fair however the residence is located within the center of the village close to restaurants, shops etc. Again we could see that rooms on the higher floors looking south had a great view of the valley. Luckily the overall holiday was very good but we would not recommend this residence except maybe on price.
