Welcome to walking in Zakopane

  • Over 275km of marked trails across Tatra National Park
  • One of Europe's best value hiking destinations
  • Rich in Polish highlander culture, folklore, and food
Zakopane walking holidays are all about breathing in pine-scented air, earning your views, and eating your weight in oscypek cheese.
At the foot of the Tatra Mountains, Zakopane is the beating heart of one of Poland’s most spectacular National Parks. Come here to walk 275km+ marked trails, including gentle valley strolls and pulse-raising summits, all finished off with hot-spring soaks and hearty Highlander feasts. Delightful!
Families will love exploring meandering valley routes across the glittering Morskie Oko lake and Kościeliska Valley caves. Meanwhile, more experienced hikers can take on the granite peaks of the High Tatras — including Poland's highest mountain, Rysy (2,499m) — or tackle the Giewont Peak (1,894m), a local legend topped by a striking 15-metre steel cross.
