The actual accomodation itself wasnt awful, however it was obvious they dont clean properly inbetween guests. There were spider webs hanging from the ceiling. 

This accomodation is very close to the slope (about a 2 minute walk) or it is ski in ski out but with it being the end of the season this wasnt possible but it was still decently close to the slope with easy access to the la intrets chairlift and folie douce.

What we didnt realise is that after being given 1 toiler roll and 4 towels to start with, that there was no maintence ie no new toilet rolls / towels provided after that. And to our surprise we had to make our own bed on arrival!! You had to pay for your own wifi too which was €8.  The bathroom and toilet were seperate and so small i dont think it would suit a guest who was on the larger side. 

The room we were given says it sleeps 4 people but there was absolutely no room for 2 peoples luggage nevermind 4. 

On the plus side they had a microwave, some intricate coffee machine that poses as a kettle, stoves and equipment to cook etc with as well as being given complimetary cleaning products.

All in all, the accomodation does the job but it wasnt amazing. 

I did actually mention to reception that i was suprised at the maintence level regarding the towels and toilet roll and the lady said that they werent a hotel and that we are on our own after checking in. Well if you arent a hotel then why am i having to check in and check out?

Not great but does the job

These apartments are small and functional and fairly priced for what you get I suppose. We have stayed previously but would probably choose somewhere else next time as they seem to have had very little maintenance over the years. Our bathroom was unfortunately full of mould, but perhaps this was because we stayed at the very end of the peak ski season.

Where shall we start? First off we arrived on Saturday, we were told we could go in our room at 3 p.m., later this was changed to 4 p.m. then to 5 p.m. and eventually we were in the room after 6 p.m.! Besides that we have asked multiple times at the reception if they could give us a time that we could enter, the only thing they could say was: the room is not ready because it is dirty. 

Then finally we could go to our room, the only thing Saskia Falaise didn’t tell us was that it is not just 1 building, there are multiple buildings across Avoriaz. We already had our ski supply, our suitcases and backpacks with us and than we had to walk (read: walk!!!!) with all that stuff to through heavy snow a complete different building, which resulted us having to pay for a horse twice. 

We arrived, things were broken in the room, there were bloodstains on the sheets, walls were dirty and the windows were very dirty from the inside and waxy earplugs behind the bed and crockery was really dirty. 

If your over 5ft good luck taking a shower without hitting your head. Can’t even stand up straight. 

Eventually we tried to connect to the WiFi that they offer. This was not working so we contacted the reception, we were told that they would take care of it but after a whole day they didn’t reach back to us. 
We called again, again and again but still no solution. 

At this moment we are on day 5 of our holiday and there is still nothing solved. We have been to the reception, but they told us it is not their WiFi and we needed to contact another company. We did, it worked (only in the lobby of the hotel) and once we arrived in our appartement it stopped working.

What a massive disappointment this resort was !

We love Avoriaz and are seasoned skiers all over the world so we spend a lot of time researching and choosing the correct accommodation for our half term ski trip vacation. 

The apartment is definitely not cheap - if we had had a budget deal my opinion would be slightly different - but paying top dollar for an apartment with extreme damp was completely unacceptable. 

The reception staff were completely unhelpful and we had to suffer a week in this honestly rancid place. 

My wife and youngest daughter both suffer from asthma so staying a full week in an apartment with so much damp in the walls was medically unacceptable - however reception and the general manager quite honestly did not care and just kept saying that this apartment was the only one they had available and could not change it. 

We even returned back from a days skiing early to meet the manager after he had called my mobile to have a wasted half of the day because the meeting was to reiterate that they didn’t have any other options!! 

I have attached pictures of the apartment and it’s damp and broken wardrobe doors etc etc 

We were given a tiny refund as a gesture of supposed goodwill and their answer to the damp was a room boy with a can of spray ! This as I told them strongly with my medical background would not be sufficient to kill off the damp spores in abundance. 

But the poor levels of customer service offered and received and the way we were made to feel like second class citizens because we were not staying in the 5 star residence - which we have stayed in before - and that we just had to endure this apartment for the week. 

We will not be rushing back and I certainly won’t be recommending this place to anyone anytime soon ...... 

Extremely poor in all aspects because even in extreme circumstances customer service can still be maintained 


Half term ski trip 

Bibury, Cotswolds, England

Just returned from staying at the Tilia. Good positives but also some negatives. Check in was in another ‘Residence’ which during a busy check in period was smooth and plenty of info given. The Tilia was only about 100 metres away and easy to find. On entering the building we used the lift which took us to the 3rd floor. Once we entered our floor it was very poorly lit even though some lights could be turned on on the walls. Even this didn’t make a great deal of difference. On entering the apartment we were slightly disappointed as the apartment was nothing like we had seen in the pictures. Just about enough room for us being 2 adults and 2 children. Was clean and had plenty of towels, sheets and bedding. Pillows were very small and had to wrap towels around mine to make it a decent size. Kitchenette was ok but wish they had an oven as the combi microwave wasn’t any use at all for cooking. WiFi was excellent which kept the kids happy. One big plus was the view which was fantastic (photos attached). The major plus was the location which was ski in ski out. Literally clip your skis on and away you went from the ski locker location (ground floor). All in all as title suggested a mixed bag. Would we stay again, not too sure unless we could get a reduced price as the price was very high for the apartment (agreed only really a base and somewhere to sleep).
