sorry for the delay of my answer and thank you very much for your constructive comment. Hope you still enjoy our ski resort and I do agree with you  that accommodation should be improved sometimes. Little by little it is going on this way.

We know La Norma very well ,we have skied there lots over the last 6 years and can highly recommend it . It's superb for its easy access off the Motorway and it's height at 1300 metres guarantees snow in the resort. There are no queues , lift passes are cheap and S
ski hire cheap . This makes it an excellent learners resort ,there's no point in going to the larger resort where all the piste are busy to learn. The other great bit is down the Maurienne valley there are 20 or more satellite ski resorts all within an hours drive of here .There is even a bus from La Norma to the neighbouring resorts of  Aussios, Velfrejus , Val Cenis which is a great resort and Orelle. Now thats when people who want a big day out can access the 3 vallies of Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens within a 20 minute drive of La Norma. As for the accomadation, yes as the previous comments , typically French therefore not best ever. Howver some of the private ones..look at Monsier Wolfs which is absolutely stunning , he has a few chalets that are newly refurbished to a great standard .Also agree with the restaurant recommendations ,Taos is some of the best food I have ever had ...Dahu also nice and the Grizzly Restaurant on the left side of the Mountain is great. Far cheaper than other Big resort prices

Your feedback is relevant and I understand that you could be disappointed with some accommodation. We know that English people usualy  love all inclusive (accommodation and full board) and La Norma unfortunately is not of this quality. On the other hand I find your last answer tough, you say you do not recommend the resort because of 2 accommodation experiences, you know in 2 years La Norma has evolved for individual apartments or chalet rental 200 most refurbished (and they are not all with Clefservice where you had your bad experience with the deposit). You did not also tried to go through the Sogenor booking office! So retry La Norma a 3rd time and maybe finally you will review your position for recommending it!
Anyway have some great holidays wherever you want to go!

We have been skiing in La Norma twice now, and this is very much a review of two halves.
Firstly, the village itself. It's a doddle to drive to - about 10 minutes off the motorway and two miles off a main road. The small pedestrianised centre has a selection of bars, restaurants and shops - the restaurants are all good, with the Dahu and Tao being our favourites. Tao in particular was outstanding - two of the best meals we've ever had in a ski resort. We can also recommend the weekly Savoyard meal in the mountain restaurant - the Gondola lift opens specially for the evening. All in all, the village is great. As is the skiing - this is, after all the point of a ski resort. I love the skiing here. There's enough to keep most people occupied for a week, and the pistes are well groomed. There's a good range of long, wide open runs above the tree line, and two decent reds and a very long green curving back to the village through the trees. Best of all, there are no queues. No kidding - I have never waited for a lift here. The two mountain restaurants are also good - great food, friendly service and reasonably priced.
Secondly, we come to the other half of this review. Unfortunately, I can't really recommend any of the accommodation options. On our first trip, we stayed at Goelia. This was very cheap, but the apartment and building seemed very tired. It was also a bit out on the edge, so a lot of walking in ski boots. I wouldn't write it off - it was very good value - but I wouldn't recommend it either. Most of the best accommodation is privately owned, and can be rented via the resort website. This is what we did the second time we went. Sadly, this brings about its own problems. Arranging money transfers from UK banks to French banks bumps the cost up quite a bit, and then there's the problem of getting your deposit back. Despite cleaning thoroughly before we left, we lost some of our deposit as the next guests apparently claimed the apartment was dirty. I don't know how often this happens, but clearly you've got no redress whatsoever. I therefore couldn't recommend booking privately either.
And therein lies the problem. It's a great little resort, with fantastic skiing, excellent restaurants and bars, really friendly and incredibly good value. Yet I'd never advise anyone to stay there.
