The worst accomodation I have ever stayed in!!!
The bathrooms and windows sils are mouldy, the shower cabins haven't been cleaned in at least 2 months as we found dirt and scum all over, the toilets were covered in urine and fecal matter, there was hair and dust everywhere, under the beds we found used tissues, clothing tags and garbage, the bed protectors were stuck to the mattresses and filthy. There was a pugnant smell of wet animal fur and mould. We've spent €25 and 2 hours just in the first night to be able to take a shower and not contract any diseases.( see photos from just one of the rooms)
When we complained about the state of it we've been told it was cleaned for 5 hours before our arrival (?!). What a joke!
Falsely advertised as 16 people capacity when in practice only 14 people can sleep in. I really wonder how can 2 adults sleep in 145cm bunk  beds?
I would not return there even if I was being paid to do so!

Very dirty accomodation, with mold in the bathrooms, dirty bed matresses, bed smell in the common areas. When we arrived at the location it was not cleaned after the previous guests, the bathrooms (all of them) were extremely dirty and the floors from the entire chalet were not even vacuum cleaned. Although the kitchen is well equiped, the dishes and cutleries were very dirty. The owner did not even bother to come and see why we complained on the day of our arrival although they are living next door to the chalet. It was booked for a group of 16 adults, but the room with bunk beds is suitable for children, the top bed is not longer than 145 cm and the hight between the 2 beds is aprox 50 cm, making it impossible for 2 adults to stay there. The only positive aspect is that the chalet location and the fact that it has both a dish washer and a washing machine.

This was booked for a group of 5, skiing at the end of February. Crystal described this as a traditional chalet. It isn't. It's a concrete structure with some wooden balconies on one side only which give a deceptively flattering brochure photo.
 The interior is shabby. All rooms on the top floor are severely height restricted due to the steeply sloping ceiling, with only a small amount of floorspace where you can actually stand upright. Unless you are 4ft 6ins or less you WILL hit your head on the low beam that traverses the whole top floor across the middle of each room. In room 7 the double bed is pulled out 4ft from the end wall as the ceiling is so low. There is only just enough clearance to open the shower room door.
The single room has no window, only a small skylight - it is dark and dismal. Although there is a double bunk, the top one is unusable because the ceiling beam cuts across it.. All showers are unventilated and damp.
Downstairs there is a boot room. Actually, it's a small under stairs cupboard with nowhere to actually sit and put your boots on. The dining room is like a wide corridor leading into the inadequate, antiquated kitchen. The single row of tables and chairs are pushed close to the wall on one side. Light fittings hang loose from the ceiling.
The "lounge" area, an alcove at the other end of the dining area, has seating for  seven. The chalet holds fifteen.
Chalet staff do NOT live in as advertised and were absent as much as present. They do not even access to a toilet in the chalet but have to use the facilities in a nearby bar when necessary.
Food was of a generally poor standard. Breakfast was very basic and limited in choice. For self-serve drinks there was one kettle and one two - cup percolator for fifteen people.
This was by far the worst so-called chalet I have ever come across in many years of skiing. Had it been my first, I would never go to a chalet again.
It was close to the slopes and town centre though.

We arrived home yesterday after a great week of skiing.

The Chalet Sabot de Venus was situated perfectly for the button lifts and nursery slopes and a minute or two walk to the Diable lift to go up the Glacier.  It had a wonderful bar "The Spot" opposite and a Sherpa grocery store.  Plenty of restaurants, shops and evening entertainment located on the doorstep.

The Crystal hosts were friendly and helpful.

The hot tub was hot and available every evening between 5 - 7 and maybe just a little bit before and after as well.

The apres tea and cake was also very pleasant and appreciated at the end of the day.

But here is what spoilt our stay.........

The rooms were far too small, we travelled as a group fo 7 and had 4 rooms between us, 1 with a balcony that could not be used as there was nowhere else to store the suitcases apart from in front of the door, 2 rooms had a low beam (and I mean a LOW beam), having to be on hands and knees almost to get the storage area, or carefully sit up in bed to avoid the beam and my husband is 6ft 4.   Our last room was the best room, twin beds and a balcony and plenty of space.

The lighting in the rooms without balconies was minimal, not great if you wanted to chill and read for while before dinner.  And in the small single room there was only a sky light - no window, thank heavens there was no fire! 

The bathrooms were smelly and covered in milldew and mould around the edge of the showers.  There was no fan extraction and as the rooms were so small the condensation from the bathroom spread into the room.  In our room the toilet leaked.

The lounge area seated only a few guests at a time, this we were aware of when we booked and by using the dining chairs most of the guests were able to be seated most of the time.

The meals felt rushed and the quantity was far too small,  very uninspiring and not always hot.  The menu varied from a chicken and chorizo lasagne (with hardly any chicken or chorizo) to a fondue (racklette).  The Fondue had two burners on a long table of 15 the smallest amount of meat and a cheese. We found everyone was being very polite in sharing the little amount of food that was available.  Desserts were just plain nasty!  Cheese and crackers would have been much better.

Breakfast was a little better, with a selection of jam, french bread, coissants and a hot option, usually something with egg and cooked to order. Fruit and cereal were available, but nothing very exciting.

The dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor and into the dining area, which (as the challet hosts had left) we felt obliged to clear up before retiring.

Very noisey at night until about 4 am.  I am not usually bothered by music and noisey revellers, however this was extreme, and as the rooms were so small and stuffy there was a need for the window to be open.

The ski and boot room served its purpose, however there was no where to actually stand/sit to put boots on apart from the narrow hallway, which was rediculuous when everyone was trying to get sorted out at once.  We ended up sitting in the lounge area to do this.

This has been our first and the last time we will book a catered challet, thank goodness the other guests were a jolly bunch and the skiing was fantastic making our stay much more enjoyable.

Extremely disappointing

The chalet is quite basic, rooms and communal areas are small but that's all we needed so it was fine. The food was disappointing, portions very small for a ski chalet and okay but nothing to write home about. It was also cold on many occasions the food had been sat in the kitchen on cold plates waiting to serve all 15 people's at once, warm plates would have made a huge difference! Croissants in the morning were extremely poor (frozen by the taste of them), fresh croissants would have made such a difference at such a small cost but this wasn't the only food that seemed to be on an extreme budget. Disappointing considering how much they charge! 

One of the reasons we chose this chalet was because of the hot tub however we were only able to use it on 3 nights as the temperature wasn't warm enough as it was being played around with by crystal staff (not the chalet hosts). Wifi didn't work for the first 5 days until a new server was installed.

Overall it was quite basic but all we needed but overpriced for the quality of food and service we received. Issy and Jody were accommodating, pleasant and friendly, these negative points did not reflect them but Crystal Ski.
