Getting to and around town:
Your airport transfer is included with your trip. Once there, you’ll find Filzmoos a picture-perfect Alpine village with trails starting right from your hotel doorstep. The Papageno Cable Car departs from the village centre, and the charming Almi Shuttle tractor-and-trailer service provides a brilliant way for families to reach the mountain huts.
Getting to your walks and hikes:
The Fidibus hiking bus runs multiple routes to Neuberg, Hofalm, and the surrounding valley, while the Marmot Express shuttle runs to the Bachlalm (except Tuesdays). The Papageno Cable Car whisks you up to the Rossbrand mountain - no huffing and puffing required.

Can I still access Filzmoos' lift and gondolas in the summer?
Yes, you can. Filzmoos' lifts and gondolas still operate throughout the summer months, provided conditions are safe and favourable, and many of the mountain huts are still operational, so you can grab a bite to eat while savouring those epic mountain views.
When do Filzmoos' lifts and gondolas run during summer?
Papageno Cable Car (Rossbrand)
- Operating times: 09:00 – 17:00
- Opens: Late May 2026
- Closes: Late October 2026
A quick "Mountain Rule of Thumb": Last ascent is usually 15–30 minutes before the official closing time, and Last descent is the very last cabin down. If you miss it, it’s a long walk back!
Can I hire a mountain guide on my Filzmoos walking holiday?
Yes, you can. Though these are not currently bookable via the Heidi website, you can enquire and book with the local tourist office, or visit their website. We recommend enquiring early to ensure availability.
What does the Filzmoos summer card give me?
The Filzmoos Sommer Card — free with selected accommodations — gives you unlimited free travel on the FIDIBUS Almi Shuttle along with one free daily ascent and descent on the Pagageno Cable Car. In addition, you get two hours free a day at Filzmoos Leisure Centre for a post-hike dip, along with discounts of up to 50% on adventure minigolf, carriage rides, and Sportwelt attractions
