Getting to and around town:
Your airport transfer is included with your trip. Once there, you’ll find Ortisei's pedestrian-friendly streets, artisan shops, and chill mountain pace easy to enjoy and explore, with valley trails starting right from town.
Getting to your walks and hikes:
Your Summer Card (free with selected stays) covers 17 lifts across Val Gardena - including the Resciesa funicular and Seceda cable car right from town. Local buses link Ortisei with Santa Cristina, Selva, and the Alpe di Siusi, while the wider Dolomiti Super Summer area connects you to trails across a further 12 Dolomite valleys.

Can I still access Ortisei 's lift and gondolas in the summer?
Yes, you can. Ortisei 's lifts and gondolas still operate throughout the summer months, provided conditions are safe and favourable, and many of the mountain huts are still operational, so you can grab a bite to eat while savouring those epic mountain views.
When do Ortisei 's lifts and gondolas run during summer?
Seceda Cable Car (Ortisei–Furnes–Seceda)
- Operating times: 08:30 – 17:00
- Opens: June 6th 2026
- Closes: October 11th 2026
Resciesa Funicular
- Operating times: 08:30 – 17:00
- Opens: Early June 2026
- Closes: Mid October 2026
A quick "Mountain Rule of Thumb": Last ascent is usually 15–30 minutes before the official closing time, and Last descent is the very last cabin down. If you miss it, it’s a long walk back!
Can I hire a mountain guide on my Ortisei walking holiday?
Yes, you can. Though these are not currently bookable via the Heidi website, you can enquire and book with the local tourist office, or visit their website. We recommend enquiring early to ensure availability.
What does the Ortisei Summer Card give me?
The Ortisei Summer Card (included free with select accommodation) offers free, unlimited use of the summer cable cars and gondolas across the valley, including Ciampinoi, Dantercëpies, and the Alpe di Siusi lift. It also includes free transport on the valley buses and, depending on the version, the train connection to Bolzano.
