I have been in otel Hochkönig twice this summer. The first time in July and the second in August when there were 24 of us and we satyed in the hotel for 5 nights. All of us were really satisfied. Very-very kind family - always there for us and good kitchen - very tasty local food and local drinks ;).
The rooms are nice and clean, the sauna warm and spacious and the pool big enough to swim in.
I could recommend the hotel for everybody: to families and all hiking enthusiasts. Dienten is a small village with 2 lifts open to go up to the mountains even in summer! There are many hiking trails and the professional host will give you the best advice on discovering exciting places.

My husband and I checked in to the hotel and requested a non-feather pillow as we always do at every hotel we stay at world-wide as he is asthmatic and is allergic to feathers. We were rudely brushed off and told that the request should have been made upon booking and it was not his problem. He was rude and unkind. This is the first time in many years of travel that it has been an issue so it never occurred to us to mention this in advance. My suggestion to the hotel is 1) to have non-allergenic pillows available and more importantly 2)to emphasize the need to be considerate to guests staying in your hotel. Had he been kind I would not have written this negative review.

What a fantastic hotel. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. 

The food was very, very good. We stayed on a half board basis for a weeks skiing. Breakfast was a good continental buffet with a choice of cooked eggs if you wanted. Evening meal was starter, soup and choice of two mains with a salad buffet as well. I enjoyed every single meal. 

There is a nice bar area, with a great radler (shandy), this one was infused with grapefruit juice which made it so refreshing after a days skiing.

There is storage for skis and boots and the hotel has a lift so no clambering upstairs in ski boots. 

The rooms are a good size, well furnished. The bathroom was a little small but to be honest it didn't matter one bit.  

There is a small wellness / spa area with sauna and I believe a steam room but didn't actually check. 

The ski bus stop is opposite but its quite infrequent so we just walked to the two-seater each day, only took a couple of minutes. 

This really was a nice hotel, the staff made you feel very, very welcome. We will definitely be back. 

The skiing was really good here, no real queues even over New Years holiday which surprised me.  

The hotel said it had free wifi but we only found it to work in the public areas. We couldn't get it working in the rooms. This didn't matter though as it was nice sitting at the bar with a cold beer or radler. 

Overall I would be happy to recommend this hotel.
