We just spent a week in Grindelwald staying at the amazing Chalet Eigersunna. This was a really spacious three bedroom chalet with amazing views of the Eiger. The views are matched by the friendly and attentive service. The team could not do enough including early morning transfers to the train station with our luggage.  Highly recommend this as a base for your adventures.

The location and views from hotel are amazing.Village and mountains from balcony looks stunning.Everything easy to access with local buses or train.The staff is just amazing and will help with any inquiry you might have.Rooms spacious and clean.

Grindelwald doesn’t have the usual big hotel names, instead you have a plethora of family boutique establishments. EMS is a small cozy hotel that caters well to people who want to unwind. Disclaimers we only stayed a few days and didn’t ski but I didn’t see a ski room, best to double check or simply rent a locker at « Terminal ».

Pros:
- Close to the train station, bus stops and a number of cafes / ski stores / grocery shops 
- Cosy rooms though ageing
- Convenient outdoor car park and covered garage (though the spots are tight)
- Simple but good breakfast 
- Convenient restaurant though the menu is not diverse and the food is simple. The wine list is good.
- Good gym
- Nice view on the Eiger

Cons:
- it’s a boutique hotel and it is ageing (that’s the case for the majority of hotels in Grindelwald)
- the restaurant could do better then serving « fast-food » type dishes mainly.
- not specifically related to the hotel but not necessarily great value for money 

All in all, I would recommend the hotel for its convenience and think it’s on the higher end of what Grindelwald can offer.

Perfect location in Grindlewald. Warm, Welcoming. We couldn’t fault anything. 5 star treatment and beautiful earthy elements. The breakfast was the best we have had yet. Honestly 2 days wasn’t enough. Walked from train station to hotel with Bags. It’s close to first as well . .
