wow, what an incredible review. Wonderful to hear, that you are already regular guests of our beautiful moutain area Grindelwald and many, many thanks, that you have chosen the Belvedere for your stay this time. 
You have given a lot of very interesting information. After reading your review, the interested readers know pretty well what to expect. Thank you so much for the incredible effort.
What we love most is, that you write that you have the intention to return not only once, but many times. That are  fantastic news.
But yes, you are right, Grindelwald and the Jungfrau-Region have a lot to offer and even after many visits, there are still new things to discover. Do you know our valley already in all 4 seasons ? For example, spring is so special when all the mountain flowers and the fruit trees are in bloom, and the winter time, offering skiing, winter hiking, tobogganing is of course just as special, winter wonderland. 
You are right, the 4th generation of the Hauser family, Carole and Philip Hauser are now in charge, together with their aunt Susanne Hauser. Their grand-grand father Johann built the hotel and opened it in june 1907.

Late to post! We (husband and self) stayed at the Hotel Belvedere last summer, July 6-10. The front desk personnel were so kind and accommodating. We arrived in the morning, so our room was not quite ready, but they encouraged us to store our suitcases and walk around a bit. Within less than 30 minutes, our room was ready and with an upgrade. 
Although we did not pay the extra for an Eiger view, we had such a charming view out of our balcony window. However, our bathroom window afforded us the most picturesque view as it looked down over the town and the quintessential Swiss alpine homes. The room was nice sized for the two of us, pristine with comfortable beds and the ubiquitous comforters along with a kettle, refrig, and all the necessary items including robes and slippers. Plenty of place to hang clothes and drawer space was more than enough.
The bathroom was a good size and offered the aforementioned window, which was so pleasant to open in a steamy bathroom if desired. 
Town was a mere 5 minutes away up a slight hill. We were told we could get a free bus ride almost outside the hotel but enjoyed the walk. The hotel is nestled on a lot that while so close to town, feels very private. The flowers were in bloom and the landscaping is serene. The hotel was very quiet although it was almost at capacity. Children were in the hotel but no loud noises or squeals. 
My favorite part of the hotel was by far the clean and beautiful indoor pool. As a daily swimmer, I have swum in pools of decreasing clarity and hygiene. The Belvedere's pool wins over all hotels ever, which is a lot, and pools in the U. S. and Europe. The atmosphere was Zen-like and the extras, spa, showers, and towels were lush. 
A close second to the pool were the abundant breakfasts in the hotel’s restaurant. A virtual serve-yourself spread of breads, eggs, meats, oatmeal, fruits, pastries, hot chocolate, teas, and coffees were available in a relaxed setting looking out at the Eiger. It was hard every morning to pull ourselves away to go hiking or shopping.
We had fondue one night in the hotel, which was filling and excellent. Again, the view adds to any meal in the restaurant and reservations were easily made at the front desk. If one plans in advance, which we did not, they even offer fondue meals in little Männlichen gondola, which looked so cozy and romantic!
The owners, a fourth generation, I believe, hosted a canapes and champagne evening one night, which we attended. They were lovely; we stayed a few minutes and then wandered out to the magnificent wrap around porch with the sweeping views of the Watterhorn and the north face of the Eiger, and perhaps the Monch. I didn’t use the hot tub but believe all three can be seen from it. The porch is spacious and has places to sit and sip a drink and couches to enjoy the views.
The stay was made even more wonderful by the gracious front desk personnel, who were always accommodating to my requests. They helped me discuss the best type of train pass to get and offered suggestions for day trips. Upon our return each afternoon, we were greeted by name and welcomed back. They always asked about our day and our plans for the evening. Nothing was intrusive. It felt like we were returning home each evening. When we had an early morning departure, they offered to-go cups and wished us a lovely trip. We never felt as if we were a room number; we felt like cherished guests even though we didn’t have the most expensive suite nor eat dinner every night there. They seemed to genuinely want us to enjoy our trip, do what we wanted, be available to help us with plans, and return as friends each day/night. Their extra touches like nuts and candies at the snack bar and pin cushions with safety pins illustrate their attention to detail and desire to meet their guests’ needs and wants. Well done!
This is our fourth visit to the Hotel Grindelwald but our first to the Belvedere. We hope to return many times in the future!

See our previous reviews. All are still true and things have even improved. We always request an Eiger View room and would recommend that. The view keeps you immersed  in the experience. The restaurant is consistently excellent and the variety and options would allow something different each day for a long stay. We have only gone somewhere else on one night per stay, and only so we could walk through town in the evening. But the best part is the staff: Knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and professional. Thanks to all of them.

The Belvedere is an outstanding, family-run hotel: super comfortable, with excellent facilities and wonderful service, but completely unpretentious. I think I relax there more than in any other hotel in which I have stayed. It is perfectly located in Grindelwald near the town railway station and on the 121 bus route to the Terminal and First gondola stations. The views of the Eiger, Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn are stunning. Rooms are spotless, comfortable and warm with lots of storage. There is a lovely bar and lounge with free soup in the afternoons, and the pool/wellness centre is excellent. The pool is big enough for serious swimmers. The restaurant is great for breakfast or dinner, and there are Michelin star and fondue options (the latter in cute converted former gondola cars) too. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is nice live music every night. I cannot recommend it warmly enough.

My wife and I recently returned from a 15-day trip to Switzerland via Copenhagen in mid October. 

 Our trip started in Copenhagen and ended in Copenhagen. For the Swiss portions of our trip, we went to Zürich, Grindelwald, Zermatt, and finally Montreux. Every place was stunning, making for a great trip.

In each city, we stayed at hotels that are rated as 5 Star properties from various sites. This hotel rating is 4 Star. 

This was our second favorite hotel of the trip. We stayed 3 nights.
The hotel is just outside the main village area (less then a 5 min walk) and conveniently close to the train station. It has amazing views of the Eiger and surrounding area. Very Beautiful.
The location is great for access to the village and the train station. Grindelwald is great with lots of outdoor activities easily accessed from the hotel. It is a great base of operations.
The hotel contacted us the day before to offer pick up at the station. The driver was there when we arrived. It was a short ride to the hotel, but we appreciated the pickup because we had some large bags and just made things easier as we had been traveling all day.
At check in we found that our room, Eiger view with balcony, was not ready, so we checked our bags and walked around the village.
When we returned, the hotel upgraded us to an executive suite on the top floor which again was a lovely and welcome surprise. The room was large with a nice bath and an outstanding view of the Eiger.
The lobby area is a little funky with two large rooms that have magnificent views and a small bar in the rear. It is a funky layout, but it may be tailored for functions or large gatherings. We tend to like more intimate a lobby space but enjoyed it, nonetheless.
The hotel does not have a gym but provide access to a facility about a 5-minute walk away. It was nicely equipped.
We ate in the hotel restaurant the first night and Breakfast each morning. Service and our food that first night was top notch. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our visit. 
Breakfast in the morning was equally good. In fact, our server from the night before greeted us by name and showed us to a lovely window seat. The staff does their best to seat you at a window seat in the mornings so you can admire the view.
We genuinely enjoyed the Belvedere Hotel and will stay there again. It was our second favorite hotel of the 5 we stayed at and we stayed at some highly rated ones.
Highly recommend.
