We've just returned home after a fantastic week staying at the apartments - and we'd certainly stay again if we were to return to Obergurgl. It's in a perfect location (if you don't mind a walk up a hill - though you can almost ski back if conditions are good), and the service and accommodation was first-class. A well-equipped kitchen - I've never been anywhere that provided so much - and it was just perfect for our holiday. Staff were friendly and helpful, and you can order bread every night and it's delivered to your door in the morning. An excellent place to stay.

We had a great 4 nights here. The apartment is well equipped and clean. The facilities - sauna, steam and relaxation area plus the boot room are really impressive for apartments of this price. The man working on reception (we didn’t catch his name) was so helpful and accommodating. The beds are comfortable and the views are great. Very well located for food drinks and skiing. Would recommend this to anyone who is not on a low budget but also not wanting to spend 5* hotel prices. 
We will return :)

We stayed here for a week and were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the apartment for a ski resort.  It was extremely clean, well equipped and very spacious for two people.
 
The local supermarket is only a short walk away, yes it is a short hike uphill on the return but didn't bother active people like ourselves! 
We chose not to use the sauna as unlike other places we have stayed there is no booking system so you can have privacy.

The room was also cleaned and bedding changed mid week which for us was a very nice and unexpected touch.
Should we return to Obergugl, we would certainly stay at the Guglhof apartments and highly recommended to anyone who like us prefers a self catering holiday.

Fantastic spacious apartment for two

We are just back from a week's stay as a family of five in the Apartmenthaus Gurglhof. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the 2-bedroom apartment, having only skied in France before, where the accommodation has always been very cramped.

Downsides: unfortunately the soundproofing was an issue for us, as we are very light sleepers. We were on the ground floor, and could hear the family above us moving around as though they were in the same room. I think this is just an issue with the fabric of the building, unfortunately. In addition, the apartment smelled of cigarette smoke - presumably because smokers had been staying there before us. There is no smoking allowed inside the apartment, but I guess the smell can still permeate the surroundings if there are smokers staying there. We didn't mention this to the (excellent) building manager, as there wouldn't have been anything he could have done. We found the apartment to be very dingy, which is a real shame as the overall level of comfort and design is pretty high. It needs much better lighting. This would be easily fixed with some nice, modern freestanding uplighters.

Upsides: the sauna and steam room area was gorgeous, with lots of lovely little touches. Great kitchen, spacious and well equipped for ski accommodation. Loved the morning bread roll service. The building manager was responsive and helpful at all times. Lovely, strong showers. Powerful heating!
