The stay at Schmittental Pension Self-Check-In had a positive impact on our stay in the Alps. Everything was just perfection, starting off with the pleasant looking building, which wooden monuments gave us a heart-warming feeling. Moving on to the personnel, we couldn’t forget to mention the owner, who welcomed us with a gorgeous smile and helped us with every struggle. Equally lovely were the girls working at breakfast and the kitchen. Talking about kitchen, without mentioning the excellence of the food would be a fraud. Breakfast was astonishing and well prepared everyday, surprising us with variety of mouth-watering cakes. Last but not least, the pension was so tidy that you could smell the freshness as you walked through the doors. Summing up we would highly recommend this place for everyone who values palatable food, warm personnel and cleanliness:)

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming staff who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Every detail was meticulously attended to, making my stay truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel!

Amazing hotel

We stayed here as a family in a Dreibettzimmer with a balcony overlooking the lake area. Rudi is incredibly nice host and a great cook. We felt very at home here and welcomed. Great breakfast buffet with special attention to the presentation. Enjoyed all our meals there. (We also ate a dinner upon arrival Sunday evening which was convenient.) Our room was very tidy and with ample room. The bathroom was quite compact yet functional. We would definitely stay there again.

On their homepage you can take a video tour of the interior of the inn which was very helpful for us making a decidion to stay there.

* There are two parking lots which was a big plus.
* The inn is walking distance both to the center of town and the ski lifts to Schmittenhöhe.
* The stay included an invaluable Zell am See discount pass which we used every day!

Rent och fint ställe placerad mittemellan stan och skidområdet. Två parkeringsutrymmen. Fint rum. Badrummet var kompakt. Titta gärna på en videotur av hotellet via hemsidan. Fint frukostbord med brett sortiment. Vi hade även en trevlig middag där vid ankomst. Ett turistort ingick i köpet som gav stora rabatter på aktiviteter i området!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this small family run hotel. We are a family of 5 and had 2 family rooms which could easily accommodate us all ( and more if necessary ). The rooms were clean and tidy and ticked all the boxes. The owners and staff were the stars of the show. They were so hospitable and accommodating , nothing was ever too much trouble even to the extent of driving us every morning to the main gondola. The breakfasts were lovely and the Apres Ski Bar has a great friendly feel and again the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately we were not able to try the restaurant ( staff absence meant they had to close) but by all accounts the food is superb. I have stayed in much more expensive and "fancy" hotels but the owners more than make up for any perceived shortfall in this regard. On the whole we couldn't have been happier and I would definitely stay here again if we come back to Zell. Excellent all round 10/10

Amazing Pension in Lovely Resort

Oh my goodness, I can't rate this place highly enough. The hosts Katrin and Rudi were exceptional and really elevated our stay! They really do go the extra mile - nothing is too much trouble while you're a guest at Schmittental. Offering guests lifts each morning, so kind!

The hotel itself is in a great location. A bus stop minutes away and a five minute stroll in to the town. You can also ski blue route 7 down to opposite the hotel. We kept our skis and boots in the hotel too. 

Breakfast was lovely each morning and the restaurant meals were superb! (Best steak ever and a must try Austrian dish Consumee with cheese dumplings).
