Very unpleasant experience at the hotel bar.
We were abruptly told to leave because the hotel had been reserved for a private event, which we got no prior info about, and this was communicated in a rude and confrontational manner. The tone was hostile and dismissive, which was unnecessary and disrespectful.
This being a bar marketed as being open to all guests every weekend…
Regardless of the situation, hotel guests should be treated with basic courtesy. The way this was handled left a negative impression.

Reading past reviews in TripAdvisor, we did not have much expectations. Also when the hotel could not arrange a transfer from Kiruna airport, we were a bit surprised.  But their recommended company (Kiruna Transfer) turned out to be an excellent company.  We were very happy with the service.   Against lukewarm reviews in TripAdvisor, we are quite happy with our stay.  The reception and restaurant staffs were very helpful.   The room was basic but spacious.  Bathroom is very basic but I think it is common in lodges/hotels in the area.  The room is a bit cold, as other review says but they provided extra blankets upon request.  Restaurants, the lobby and rooms are quite dark and I struggled to see anything but it may be good for the atmosphere.  Overall it was decent stay and I would like to thank the staffs who were working hard to look after us and I post this as I think they deserve a better review.    We also did some ski.  Ski shop in front of the hotel was very friendly and welcoming and gave us very good discount for the équipement and lift pass as we arrived quite late.  Only 1 ski slope in front of the hotel was open but we actually enjoyed skiing there.   No waiting for the lift and we could go down so many times before the sun goes down. The equipments were brand new.

Good experience against past reviews

Stayed here for 3 nights in a single/solo room. Overall experience was just okay, not great. It's for sure, not a four-star establishment, more a 3 star. The hotel itself is well located, with a good view and near the ski slopes, and very quiet. The sauna is nice after a day of hiking.

The front desk felt absent, personnel did their job but not much more. The room was correct, the bathroom small though and dated. Breakfast was average, and I cannot really recommend the restaurant since the choices are limited (often, menu items are not available) and prices are high for the quality and portion size. Service can be slow.

I realise accomodation options are limited in the area and can be expensive. But I felt even given that, I didn't get much value in what I paid for.
