Argentiere

Compared with Flaines, this was a poor stay. There are no two man rooms and all ablutions are shared. The food was very poor and the coffee atrocious. The WiFi does not work and if you want to use this place to ski then it’s busses everywhere. I wouldn’t use the place again.

Not a good UCPA

Minimal WiFi limited to one area. 
Terrible food, on a par with an English school dinner. 
Lessons taught in French only, not in English as advertised and confirmed at arrival briefing.
Beginners cross country really not suited to beginners, the course felt very unsafe - the instructor did not demonstrate concern for wellbeing, if you walk away minus an injury you will be lucky. 

He focussed his attention only on those doing well (and those that spoke fluent French). Complete disregard for others. 

UCPA Argentiere is offering a lot, and under-delivering on all fronts.

Not a good experience

I took a splitboarding course with UCPA Argentiere. The advertisement for the course  said they provide the adequate to the course equipment. However, upon arrival, I found that they simply have no splitboard of my size. They have only very large (163cm) Rossignol XV. When I asked if they can solve this issue, they just sent me off and said either I ride what they have or I don't ride at all. They also lectured me on how expensive the splitboard is, despite the price I paid for the program is significantly higher than for other programs. I have tried for two days this huge deck, but it didn't work. 

Besides, they "save" energy on the ski room boot racks - so everyone rides wet boots. I was a bug fan of ucpa, but now will seriously reconsider. Their customer relations are just miserable.

They happily take premiums, but don't have equipment

We have just finished our 4 day short course at Argentiere. We had an absolutely amazing time there.
The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and blankets and pillows were good.
The meals were good:
Breakfast: basic, bread, jams, cereals.

Lunch: picnic which is made at breakfast time. Efficient and easily packed up to be eaten on the mountain.

Dinner: delicious array of simple French foods, plenty of and a huge seating area to consume in. Dinners are relaxed and friendly so making friends here is a good spot! 
The instructors all seemed really friendly, we had Kevin for our time and he was fantastic, very patient and encouraging and kept us all progressing.
We hope that next time we visit we will get him again.
