A bathtub is essential for me on a ski holiday. That is why I booked a room with one (as the information stated on their website). Of course, I was told by the reception at the check-in that there wasn’t any room with a bathtub! No apologies or compensation. The lady at reception (I think her name is Gabriel) said ‘feel free to write us a complaint’ so I do!

The location is convenient as you can see on the Google map but it is next to the main road with drunken skis shouting outside of your building every night (so no you can’t sleep with a window opened). With the price they charge, you can consider other hotels or even ski resorts.

Noisy every night. Don’t advertise a bathtub if you don’t have a room with it

This was our second visit to Bad Gastein. Last time we stayed at hotel Salzburger hof but this time we booked a 2 room apartment at Villa Orania. This was perfect. We had a lovely apartment where we could stay with our teenagers and we had breakfast and dinner at Salzburger hof. It was close to the lifts and slope and after a days skiing we called to the reception and they turned on the sauna for us at Villa Orania. Food at the hotel is excellent and always served with a smile. Nice and comfortable beds and a big terrace outside if weather is nice.

Ski, eat, sleep, repeat.

This is a wellkept secret in Bad Gastein. A beautiful villa next to hotel Salzburger Hof.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and the food was great during week 7.

There is a private sauna at Villa Orania with very few visitors.

For the past 40 years I have been to Badgastein 10-15 times. It used to have a special atmosphere, but now the transformation into a ghost city is almost complete. Only Scandinavian charter tourism keeps this place alive. 
The villa alone is worth a 5* review, but the connection to the Salzburger Hof hotel destroys. This is a huge charter tourist machine where cost cutting is more important than the wellbeing of guests. Facilities are nice, but so crowded that they get unusable. 
The dinners are so bad that we had to give up our half board plan. The food quality is partly OK, but the seating is crowded and uncomfortable. You have other guests too close to you in all directions The staff is on a minimum level. They are overworked and rude, serving guests in shirts soaked by sweat. 
Even breakfast is bad. The staff start to clean the buffet and do vacuum cleaning long before the official closing of the breakfast. This is totally unacceptable. 
Some final notes on the villa: The building is beautiful and everything is very well maintained. The apartments are nice with fantastic house keeping. Only cons are a rather uncomfortable bathroom and some noise from outside.

We have just returned as a large group of 10.

We had one room in the hotel, 2 x one bed apartments and the penthouse in the villa, all wonderful. Perfect!

The hotel was truly excellent,  trust me I'm a difficult customer.

Excellent staff and facalities.

Beautiful.

I even made the mistake of leaving my travel wallet in reception on the last day when I checked out with my passport and hundreds of pounds of cash inside. The wonderfully honest receptionist quickly realised it was mine and brought it down two flight and delivered it to me all in tact at my breakfast table. 

Fantastic place, wonderful food, people, facilities and entertainment. I will 100% return.
