We stayed at Laura’s unit 4212 and she made everything easy for us. When you’re on vacation, it’s always nice when the host is responsive. I wasn’t always responsive myself, but she was patient and accommodated us in every way. The spot was perfect and I can’t say enough good things about the host.

Unfortunately, my stay at the Village at Breckenridge fell far below expectations, especially considering the price point and brand association with Vail Resorts.

I booked a premium condominium for a family of three and confirmed ahead of time that the unit would accommodate two adults and a child. The layout (queen bed and pull-out sofa) should have been perfectly adequate — had the sofa bed been usable.
In the first unit, the pull-out sofa bed was in unacceptable condition, with visible hair and stains, and the internal spring system was broken. I went to the front desk to report the issue and requested a simple mattress so one family member could sleep on the floor. This request was denied, and we were instead moved to a second unit, which I appreciated.

The second unit was worse. The pull-out sofa had the same issues, and there were insect droppings on the mattress, which I showed to staff. We were then relocated to a third unit. This entire process took close to two hours, which was especially exhausting after waking up at 3 AM to catch a flight.

The third unit was usable but still not properly cleaned — hair was visible on the shower walls. Both the cleaning supervisor and front desk staff apologized and acknowledged that the situation was not up to standard, attributing the issues to holiday crowd volume. At nearly $500 per night, this explanation was not acceptable.

As a final note, after all the inconvenience, I was offered a gatorade as a gesture. I was not seeking compensation — only a clean, functional room and a smooth check-in experience, which should be standard at this price level.

On a positive note, the ski rental process was efficient, and the location next to the lifts is excellent. However, location alone does not compensate for poor cleanliness, maintenance failures, and a stressful arrival experience. Based on this stay, I cannot recommend the Village at Breckenridge.

Cleanliness and Maintenance Issues Overshadowed an Otherwise Good Location

We are very sorry to hear that you did not get the room you had requested. We have reported this experience to the general manager of the company from which you rented. 

As a side note, wood burning fireplaces are becoming a thing of the past. Many municipalities in mountain towns are outlawing them due to the pollution and many HOAs are no longer allowing them due to safety concerns and rising insurance costs. Less than half of the condos at the Village have a wood burning fireplace currently. Some have gas.  Some do not have fireplaces at all.

Called 2 months in advance to reserve a room specifically with a wood fireplace. Was told that it was added and hotel staff would do everything possible to accommodate this request and it shouldn’t be an issue (the main reason we booked at this hotel for Christmas, no gifts this year just wanted a trip to a mountain town with my wife to sit by a wood fireplace). Arrived and no wood fireplace. Called the front desk, spoke with a very condescending female manager who said “nothing we can do, we are sold out”. Called epic reports booking to see if maybe I could transfer to one of the other Breckenridge hotels on epic that would have a wood fireplace was also willing to pay the difference. They were helpful and looked and said the only room with a real wood fireplace that was not booked was at the Village at Breckenridge.  They said they would be able to book this room, they called the village at Breckenridge and I guess got the same manager because she said no. So that was super fun, Christmas ruined thank you!!

The Village at Breckenridge is a non-smoking property located at the base of Peak 9 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, adjacent to the Peak 9 Quicksilver Super 6 chair lift. The Village's buildings include five buildings connected by a plaza of privately owned condos as well as a ski school, sports equipment rental shops and urgent care medical center. The Village offers a new health club that includes: indoor/outdoor heated pool, children's shallow pool with slide and water features, 4 large hot tubs, gym, steam room, sauna, community game room, movie theater and x box game room. All condos have access to the same amenities, as well as fully equipped kitchens. Specific units have fireplaces and balconies. Condos are all privately owned so designs, updates and furnishings will vary based on the owner. You can book directly with owners or local management companies to guarantee which specific unit you would like to book.
