We have just returned from a fabulous week in Cervinia and a big part of that was our stay at White Apartments. Ettore was extremely helpful and a great asset to have on any holiday. Both he and the team did their utmost to be on hand at all times and to cater to our every needs when when faced with adversity (the electrics went in the huge snowfall on Monday!)

The apartment was basic but was very clean  and had everything you could need including great heating to dry out your clothes each night, a locker and drying room for all your equipment. Great ski in and out and local ski hire for passes and rentals which is open until 7:30pm everyday which is convenient.

The nearest food that is best is in the White Basecamp restaurant which was below our apartment and Sarro was again fabulous. The meat/cheese platter to share is amazing as is the roast chicken and lasagne. It's as good as Baita Cretaz which is saying something. 

We will definitely return here as we have only stayed in the village before and this is a great alternative.

White Apartments was better than we expected. The host, Hector was very friendly and helpful. He showed us around and was a great guide to the resort for us. Available at all times, he answered our questions and helped us throughout our visit. White Apartments has a "base camp" restaurant, which was our daily breakfast and hang-out place. Very friendly staff, great omelettes and good beer. This is a ski-in and ski-out place. Skiing in depends on the right lifts being open, but very comfortable. Ski-out is good at first, but required a 3 minute walk from the bottom of the slope uphill to the main lift (still pretty comfortable). Try to find a taxi-number, as it will be good to have on nights out to the village (the bus is highly unreliable). Overall, we were very happy with our stay, and Hector was a great host.

If you like this place or not is a matter of expectations. You get what you pay for. If you are more into skiing than drinking and dining - this works. The complex is ski-in/ski out, with a lift and a black house slope that is magnificent on powder days. The building complex is semi-renovated 1970s. White´s flats are some what renovated and clean with neat bed linen, towels and comfortable beds. The bathrooms are overdue for a renovation though. Still this is good value and that should be kept in mind.

The boss Ettore is extremely helpful and friendly if there are any questions and issues. Further, I highly recommend eating at his White Base Camp. We had breakfast there every day for a week. Same thing... good value. No point in buying breakfast and making in the room really. Also - extremely good pizzas in the evenings, good drinks and a friendly atmosphere.

The one and only drawdown with this place is that its a bit far from the village centre, which somewhat complicates dining as the White Base Camp is the only decent restaurant in the hood. There is a smaller place next door to White. I ate there but would recommend it for afterski drinks rather than for food.

White Apartments is by far the best accomodation in Cielo Alto. 

You can enjoy the advantages of the area (quiet but not far from Cervinia city center, ski-in/ski-out, wonderful views on the Matterhorn and the Grandes Murailles, more hours of sun than in the rest of Cervinia) but still being sure of a correct and clean accomodation.

Other similar structures in Cielo Alto are still a lottery: you can find good apartments, but also horrible ones, while White Apartments flats are all well maintained and always clean.

The best apartments are the "view" and "side" type.

The first for the wonderful sight on the mountains, the latter because they are litterarly a few meters from all the local services that you really need: restaurants, slopes, ticket office/ski rental shop, market.

Cielo Alto is a typical "ski-total" complex built in the 70s. It is at around 3-4 minutes of distance from Cervinia center (by car) or 15-20 minutes walking. Please note that In case of snow fall the road will be accessible only with chains or winter tires.

The area is also served by a local bus (runs every hour or less) which costs 1.10 €.

The best in Cielo Alto

We had one of the big apartments which was specious and convenient for 4 people. The hotel is located outside of the village center but not far. There is a regular bus service. From the hotel there is direct access to ski. There are 2 nice restaurants in the building and a small supermarket as well. The apartment is clean, well equipped and well maintained.

At the same time our guests can enjoy of an unique experience thanks to the quiet calm with the advantages of staying in a flat. BASE CAMP - apartments reopens with a new management whose purpose is to modernize the whole structure with new hospitality, original and up to date but also useful and surprising services. BASE CAMP - apartments opens immediately with modernized flats that will remodel again to satisfy our guests necessities and suggestions and inventing new solutions to satisfy and surprise them.
