WOW! We were visiting this past week for 4 nights. My cousins booked this trip and it was GREAT! Great food and I noticed the owner there over seeing and making sire it was great. They will help with everything. We e-biked down the hill and all around. The hill up was a bit of a challenge on the bikes but we did it! Highly recommend.

Such a great get away in summer. Loved the cows!

In February, we returned to the Höllensteinhütte - and enjoyed our stay as much as before!

We enjoyed every single moment of our stay - not least because of the great and personal hospitality of the Erler family (with Michael, Thomas, and Hubert at the personal frontline) as well as their service staff - warm thanks to the entire team.

The Höllensteinhütte is a marvellous blend of a traditional Tyrolean alpin hut and a boutique hotel. Rooms are newly renovated and nicely furnished (for recent pictures visit their web page - pictures here seem to be mostly from before the renovation). Also for this year's return, we were enchanted by the location of the Höllensteinhütte on a calm mountain plain (Alm) again - looking from the balcony at the sun lit peaks in the morning, enjoying a hunter's tea (Jagatee) on the porch after "returning from the valley" in the afternoon, or enjoying the star-sprangled night sky before closing the day.

This year, we brought snow shoes. We had tried them before on smaller hikes and enjoyed them during our stay for hikes starting "right in front of the breakfast table". Stepping out of the hut and stepping right in to the nature, hiking up into the mountains and returning without having to jump into the hustle and bustle of the valley was a special gift to us.

We also enjoyed the half-board in full again. All food was very tasty - a lovely and wide selection of local produce for breakfast and a delicious 4 course dinner - for which we would happily award a personal "star".

The Höllensteinhütte is a clear recommendation from us to everybody who would like to enjoy the calmness of the nature at a Tyrolean mountain hut, yet in reach to the Tux skiing area, combined with the comfort of a boutique hotel, and topped off by personal hospitality. We are determined to return.

We spent 5 days of winter vacation at Höllensteinhütte and are determined to return :)

We enjoyed every single moment of our stay - not least because of the great and personal hospitality of the Erler family as well as Daniela and Viktoria being our kind hosts for breakfast and dinner - a special thanks to the entire team.

The Höllensteinhütte is a marvellous blend of a traditional Tyrolean alpin hut and a boutique hotel. Rooms are newly renovated and nicely furnished (for recent pictures visit their web page - pictures here seem to be mostly from before the renovation). A morning view from the balcony at the surrounding mountain peaks makes for a great start into the day. The arrangement for getting down into the valley in the morning and back up to the hut in the afternoon was flawless and more of a premium add-on to our vacation experience - in the morning a 3.5km fun sleigh ride and in the afternoon a shuttle ride offered by the hut up to the sunny hut porch right in the middle of the calm mountain plain (Alm).

All food was very tasty - a lovely and wide selection of local produce for breakfast and a delicious 4 course dinner - for which we would happily award a personal "star".

A Hideaway Gem in the Mountains - yet in close reach to the Tux tourist areas

Very beautifully located Gasthouse. Unfortunately the service we experienced was very arrogant. While we very a little slow in deciding, we got a lecture of how they are so busy that we should shut up and order. Also out of four orders a was correct. Once we got food, it was good though.

A fantastic and beautiful location. Collection by off road car from village 15m away. When the snow is good you can use toboggans to get down at night and in the morning. The hotel offers pick up between certain hours but there are plenty of local taxi's wiling to fleece you of €30 each way.
The hotel was of good quality, fine drinks and food. Breakfast was. Little lacking.
Beautiful location and never ending interesting artifacts inside....its amazing what you find hidden away in this hotel
