Hotel with breathtaking view, excellent food (sarma was exceptional;), seafood risotto as well)..   Hotel staff are helpful and friendly.  You can ski all the way from ski pist to the hotel. Certaintly would come back!

Feeling home hotel

This is beautiful family hotel. Great food and staff along with best view of mountains and sunshise make this place a favourite. Hotel is very close to ski lifts and a great ski school for kids. Very warm, family feeling throughout the hotel.

Great hotel, perfect view of mountains

Zagreb, Central Croatia

Chose this hotel for two reasons.. firstly to break up the trip from Salzburg to Venice and secondly because it’s 1500m above sea level...

When researching this stay I knew absolutely nothing about the area but thought it would be a nice stop to break up an otherwise long trip.

Stayed 2 nights at SonnenHotel and loved it... wish the stay was longer.. 

Had room 307 on the top floor and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.. the room is spacious and clean but no in room facilities such as fridge and coffee making.

The room was booked with half board.. and the food was fresh and tasty. Given there is no places close by to go and eat was extremely happy with the half board.

The location of the hotel is such that it’s a 15 minute walk to the mid-point where you can get a chairlift to the summit of Gerlitzen, or a cable car to the bottom to Annenheim. Absolutely worth doing both.. also lots of hiking to be done in the area. 

Only downside was the expensive taxi rides to and from Villach Hbf..

Would love to come back to SonnenHotel one day. Certainly can recommend it.

Breathtaking View

It is not cheap, but you will get first class service. The view is beautiful from the rooms and the restaurant also. I reccommend it summer and winter too. Gerlitzen is really close, hiking or skiing in the winter is just outside your door.

Amazing view, nice people

RATE_LOCATION

Hotel is located on 1500 m with magnificent view on valley and hills all around it.
Hotel is few hundreds meter away from Gerlitzen mittelstation so you can use gondola to go down till lake side or up till top of the mountain on 1911 m.
We were there on beginning of summer season, so hotel was not full but service was great. As we are family with 3 kids and we got spacious family room with baby cot.
Hotel also got children playground room.
We also used swimming pool and sauna which also got same great view.
We will come for sure in winter season.
