Champoussin

Waited 15 min for a table at 1pm, ordered at 1:30, food came at 2:30. My rösti was cold, had to send it back. At 2:50 rösti hadn’t come back, so we left. 
On the positive side, the boys had pulled pork burgers and liked them. And the very friendly staff was kind to us and apologetic - first big day of the year. 

2:30 and still waiting for lunch

Overtrading on its rosti reputation, this is an underwhelming restaurant for one in such a prime position. The service is improved from previous years, but the food remains very average. The rostis are greasy and not crisp as they should be. I had a croute for lunch - a thick slab of brown bread with a slice of ham and a heavy cheese topping - with an egg on top. It was nice but underwhelming. The menu choice was limited and I was struggling to find something I wanted in the absence of a plat du jour. 

Continues to be a mediocre experience 

You can ski from Avoriaz to Champoussin. Close to the slopes and lifts, fast and very friendly service, what a difference with the nearby French ski resto “friendliness”. 
Fantastic view outside on the large terrace. 

Very friendly, good “ski” good.

Had lunch there with a group of 10 and the staff were fantastic, food great and great view. Will come back again. Recommend the plat du jour every time although everyone had great food. Steak hash Rosti looked fab !
