Familien- & Gartenhotel Theresia 4-Sterne Superior

We have always enjoy the location, atmosphere and friendliness of Theresia. This is backed up by very good food (quality and variety), lovely pools and a cosy sauna area. The recent extension of the offer to include many drinks (all inclusive) makes this a great value proposition. We don't ski, but enjoy seeing the mountains in the winter coat!

A welcome return to a favourite hotel.

Just returned from a weeks skiing with family (booked through Inghams in the UK).
The hotel is family run and has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had a large room on the second floor (plenty of storage space in entrance area, WC separate from bathroom) – this room could comfortably sleep 3. Our sons room of the 4th floor was much smaller, but would still be more than adequate for a couple.
Food is excellent – breakfast is a buffet (standard hotel stuff), lunch also a buffet. Evening (5-course) meal generally chosen from a menu with 2 or 3 options for various courses selected during breakfast. All food was high quality. Fresh fruit available during all meal-times. Fabulous cheese board selection.
The all-inclusive wine list is extensive and also includes local Austrian wines, of those we tried all were very good – no scrimping on margin here ! There is a help yourself area with a good selection of bottled beers (also cider, spritz and no-alcohol options) and a draught beer, in addition to the wines. Fizzy drinks also available. Tea & Coffee, fruit juices, water available 24hrs.
Spa area consists of saunas, steam room and indoor pool; heated outdoor pool is a definite bonus – a lovely spot from which to gaze at the mountains.
Rooms have an allocated individual ski-locker with heated boot-warmers. Closest lift is the A11 (button)(about 2 minutes walk in ski-boots), with the A12 (T-bar) being marginally further – you then need to ski to the A10 (T-bar) from where you can connect into multiple lifts.
Skiing home is via the easy reds 77 then 78 (terminates alongside the hotel), or alternatively via blue 11 which will take you to the bottom of either lifts A11 or A12 (piste marking could be better here – keep your height as far as possible and don’t turn left until forced to).
The ski bus stops directly outside the hotel and provides easy access to lifts higher up / lower down the valley. These run to various destinations with each service being every 20minutes (meaning you’d be very unlucky to have to wait a full 20 minutes).
The only negative point is that the wi-fi seems to drop-out every so often, however overall I would strongly recommend this hotel.
Note for those booking through Inghams : Inghams equipment hire use a shop (Gumpold) in town – about a 10-15 min walk (or ski-bus and short walk) – this option is notably cheaper than the ski hire shop near the hotel (Skill – near lift A12) : your choice price vs convenience.

Excellent food and accommodation

We have just had a fantastic week at  Gartenhotel Theresia, it was a first visit and we will be back. Everything was as described - hotel staff are friendly and helpful, the food was excellent with different evening menus accompanied by good wines, breakfast buffet with lots of choice (some additional muesli would be good), the hotel and rooms were very clean, easy to access from the ski slopes, close to the ski school and lifts. Self-service bar during certain hours. The value was great for the all-inclusive option. 
We celebrated our sons birthday and the hotel decorated our table, gave a lovely gift and helped organise a cake and area for a little party. Our children enjoyed the kids club downstairs which is not far to access and felt safe, this allowed us time to enjoy our meals. 
Pool and spa area was enjoyed by everyone and never felt crowded.
Highly recommend this hotel for families wanting to enjoy the slopes, with a nearby ski school (SkiLL were brilliant and also drop your kids at the hotel after ski school) and in hotel kids club.

Family Ski Trip Feb 2026

Spent a week here skiing with a friend. After initial confusion with the room allocation, this was quickly resolved by reception staff and our stay was most enjoyable. The staff and particularly the restaurant staff, make every effort to ensure you are looked after. Shout out to Patricia (and Lisa) 👍 for being so attentive, engaging and helpful. Being all-inclusive was a concern, but need not have been, they do offer some great options for all meals, so you wont be disappointed nor go hungry (although to be honest, after a busy time on the slopes, I'd prefer a bit more basic homely/warming food rather than their take on 'haute cuisine' every night! - but they do try). 
The rooms are adequate, and the spa/indoor and outdoor pool facilities are fantastic. A roaring open fire every evening in the lounge area and the help-yourself wine and beer fridges (with small bottles of cider too) were great. 
The hotel is located just a 5-10 mins walk from Hinterglemm and a free ski-bus stops right outside the hotel to take you up or down the valley to the ski lifts. 
In summary; a lovely quiet family-run hotel, with attention to detail, friendly and relaxed, value for money - I would certainly recommend (and hope to return one day, perhaps in the summer).
