Great location,  very big room looking out towards the glacier. 
No worries if you have an early flight transfer,  the breakfast restaurant opens at 4.30am on transfer day (Saturday). Never had that before.

Just got back from a fab week at the Grande Paradiso - family of 4 plus grandparents. Children are aged 4.5yo and 15mo.

We had a great time and the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. No holiday is stress free with little ones and this was no exception but the hotel definitely helped in many ways to keep it as relaxing as possible, however, there were a few areas which exacerbated the stress as a family with little people.

The biggest issue for us personally was the time the evening dinner room was opened - 7pm (although often you can go in from 6:45pm) was unfortunately just too late for us. This is quite an isolated issue which probably isn’t an issue at all for most guests but for us it made our evenings very difficult. Our children usually eat between 4:30 and 5:30 (which I realise is very early for most people) and they’re getting ready for bed at 7pm. So when they’d been out skiing/swimming/sledging/generally exhorting themselves they were absolutely whacked by 7pm and mostly past the point of hunger. So dinners for us were pretty rushed and stressful! An earlier evening meal would have helped us a lot but, I know that doesn’t appeal to everyone!

Having said that, the food offerings were very very good. Every night there was lots of variety, plenty to choose from and super tasty. If I was being very picky (which clearly I am!) I’d have appreciated a wider variety of fruit for the children on a breakfast and evening meal time. But otherwise, we really enjoyed the food.

A really nice touch is the free bar food on offer in the bar area from around 4pm onwards: now this would have been ideal to give the children to eat as their tea had it not all been doused in chillis and chilli oil! Don’t get me wrong, it was really delicious and us adults enjoyed it but there was nothing we could give the little ones because of how spicey it was which was a real shame and seemed a bit unfair!

One other disappointment for us was that we expected to be able to use the children’s indoor play areas on a daily basis whenever we wanted to, but we quickly realised it was only an option for the children who were booked into the crèche service which we chose not to do with our little ones. This was a real shame as we could have done with spending some time playing in a dedicated space like this, particularly with the 15mo as understandably there wasn’t much else for him to do other than be pulled around by us in a sledge! Which was very fun as well tbh.

Our room was beautiful; very spacious, modern design and furnishings, lovely comfy beds and a spectacular view of the mountains. Cleaned each day to a high standard and always lots of fresh towels that the 15mo enjoyed throwing about. However, we missed having a bath, particularly as our littlest couldn’t go in the big shower safely with it being so slippery so that was a shame. Also, very minor but other than a small toilet side bin there was nowhere else to put rubbish in the room which is a bit of an issue when you have a little person in nappies still!

A great aspect to the hotel was the location of the ski hire store and lifts to the slopes. Really near by making it nice and easy although it was a bit of a challenge carrying all the gear and the 4yos gear up the 4 flights of stairs to the lifts but it was doable.

The staff were all fantastic I really can’t say a bad word about any of them. Attentive, friendly, helpful, and just so gorgeous with the children. They are worth their weight in gold. 

All in all a fab holiday, a few minor glitches, most of which are just to do with us having such young children and it already being hard taking them on holiday!

We stayed in the Grand Paradiso with four children 8, 5, 5, 1 and would highly recommend this hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel was lovely with all areas well kept and clean.
Every member of staff was helpful, polite and always so friendly towards the children. There was a wide selection of good food on offer every morning and evening and our rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day. We used the pool/spa on several occasions; it was exceptionally clean and again the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were a 3 minute walk to the closest ski lift which was ideal with small children.
The ONLY negative about our stay (and this is a very small issue) is that the locker for our ski equipment was too small for all of our skis/boots/poles and we found ourselves having to take the children's boots up to our room. The locker room was perfectly located and our boots were always dry in the morning from the heated lockers.
This hotel was fantastic value for money and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely hotel & good food. I upgraded my room to a suite with magnificent views of run 37 Pista Paradiso. 
But is this hotel really ski-in ski-out?  The answer is Yes and No. It abuts the slopes but in order to get to the piste you come out of the ski room turn left & walk up 4 flights of stairs before donning your skis. Takes about 5mins. In terms of skiing back in…… it’s a qualified “Yes”.  If there’s plenty of snow then yes you can ski directly down to the ski room. Later in the season with melting snow you may need to walk the last 25 meters. I hope that helps!

The Grand Hotel Paradiso has everything you need for a fabulous ski holiday - a swimming pool & fabulous spa with excellent treatments; fantastic food served with free wine and beer; cheerful staff; ski in ski out; large & easily accessible boot room; ski, board, boot hire plus repair shop on site. We were in the Queen’s Suite on the second floor and the mountain views were extraordinary. The beds are large and comfortable. The power showers are fabulous.
