Gut Wenghof - Family Resort Werfenweng

Our first trip to Europe with our kids was absolutely amazing thanks to Gut Wenghof in Werfenweng! We were the only U.S. family there, but language was never a barrier—everything was in German, yet the kids had a blast, made friends, and learned to ski with the ski school. The staff were incredibly helpful, making sure we felt welcome and supported despite the language difference.

The property is a family paradise: the indoor play area, kids’ club with fun activities, and evening programs kept the children entertained all day. The kids’ club even picked them up from ski school, which was so convenient. Our rooms were cozy, spotless, and full of thoughtful touches—like little stools in the bathroom for the kids.

The location is perfect, within walking distance of ski school and the slopes. Meals were delicious, and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. Every detail, from skiing to family activities, made this an unforgettable trip. We can’t recommend Gut Wenghof highly enough for families looking for a fun, welcoming European ski getaway!

Unforgettable First European Ski Trip with Kids!

We LOVED Gut Wenghof. Our kids had a blast at the numerous play areas, the pool was clean and lovely, the food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We were in awe of the view surrounding the hotel. We went up the cable car several times. As far as I could tell, we were the only American/English family at the hotel during our stay. It definitely seems to be most well-known by Austrians and Germans. However, all the staff spoke good English and we never felt uncomfortable or annoying to them. My daughter made friends with other kids no problem. Play is its own language! We really felt at home here and we would definitely come back to Gut Wenghof. We have recommended it to all of our friends!
