Decent hotel on the main road of the town. The room was good but din't feature feature much of a view. The gentleman at the breakfast buffet didn't speak English which was a bit weird especially in Switzerland.

The Hotel is rated Three Stars
The Quality of the room was FouStars. Since we were there last  the room was totally renovated with  solid  wooden floor in the room and  in the modern  renovated bathroom.
The Restaurant in the Hotel has also been totally redone and the food and service was very good

This is a very nice, modern, hotel in a traditional style inside and out.  Our room was large and comfortable, with a great balcony looking out over the main street of Adelboden.  The location is central to most of Adelboden’s shops and restaurants, and to one of the main ski lifts.  All of the public areas of the hotel were spotless, as was our room.  Breakfast was very adequate and served in the hotel’s restaurant.  The restaurant looked great, but we didn’t get a chance to try it.
The lady who was covering the reception area, both when we checked in and when we checked out, was extraordinarily nice.  We had three or four situations arise (unrelated to the hotel itself) where we needed help from someone Swiss, and she went out of her way on each situation.  
We would go back again and again.

Just a Great Hotel in a Great Location

Marblehead, Massachusetts

Poor service, late food, terrible management. 'boss' too arrogant to admit that he had messed up the order and it was over 1.5 hours late. Small children to deal with. Just say sorry!!!!! Also food expensive and amateurish.

1569 – exactly 448 years ago – the Bären was built as the first Inn in Adelboden. Ever since it stands for hospitality, sociability and a place where happy people meet. 1934 the whole building was wrecked and re-built. The last big renovation took place in summer 1991. Time does not stop and the customers expectations rise. In spring 2017 all hotel rooms were renovated. More modern, more comfortable but the hotel has preserved the charm of the past. Fall 2017 we gave the Restaurant Bären a complete new look. Valuable, proven materials were used and merged with modern and regional accents. We want our guests to feel comfortable in a unique atmosphere. As for 448 years hospitality and conviviality come first.
