Fantastic hotel.  We always forget how much time you spend in the hotel when skiing....so important to find the right hotel.  This is our second time at the Bergwelt and it was great the first time and even better this.  Food of an excellent standard, amenities spot on and staff very attentive.  Rooms very clean.  Easy atmosphere and good value.  Location great but on a hill (for town access) and ski out via a form of T bar (although hotel bus valuable to take you to lifts).  Highly recommended.

Second time at the Bergwelt and it's even better

Lovely stay in January 2026. Excellent hospitality from the whole team; felt at home from the moment of checking in. Whilst one of the more expensive options in Obergurgl we gelt we got value for money. 
Food of excellent quality and good choice. Although might be slightly "fussy" for some, we massively enjoyed it and flexibility was offered if none of the options were to the taste of our party (which happened once in a 7 night stay with). 
We were skiing and this would be perhaps the only point with some nuance. The boot/ski room was good, easy to access from inside the hotel. To leave the room, slightly steep (but short!) stairs up to the side of the hotel. If snow conditions are good, a very short walk to snow is possible and then to ski to the lifts. The same is true returning to the hotel, you can ski to within a 3minute walk. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the lifts which we used a lot - is quick and convenient but still a small faff. 
Rooms fine/comfortable, clean and no complaints. Good quality sleep - despite being under the bar during live music on some nights we did not hear this at all. 

Overall a lovely stay - particularly thanks to Nadia and Martin in the restaurant.

Great stay

We are not strangers to The Bergwelt. This was our 22nd visit so that should tell you how we rate the hotel!
This year’s visit was up as one of the best and we’ve had many great trips to the Bergwelt. We stayed over New Year and as usual the experience was top notch. 
As mentioned by other reviewers the hotel is family run and their constant attention to detail, improvements and this year’s substantial investment in the rear restaurant and buffet areas demonstrates their commitment for ongoing excellence. 
Food, wines and service are all of the very highest standards. 
This year we were looked after by the very professional Boris in the restaurant and of course the award winning maitre d’, Ralph Moser. 
Obergurgl has many great hotels but our heart lies at the glorious Bergwelt. 
(We have another trip booked soon!)

Attention to Detail

We stayed as a family just after Christmas and had a fantastic time. The hotel is a short 200m walk to a blue run which takes you to the main slopes. Staff are friendly, the food is good and more than plentiful, and the rooms are warm and cosy. We were there for New Year and enjoyed the champagne reception and gala dinner - take fairly formal evening wear; it’s a party atmosphere. Special mention of Martin in the restaurant, who is an outstanding waiter and ensures everything runs smoothly. Bar service is a bit slow, and more explanation of access to the ski area could be provided by reception. It would also be nice to have water provided daily in the rooms and tea/coffee facilities. Overall, we had a great stay and would come again.

Cosy hotel with easy access to the slopes
