Cella Central Historic Boutique Hotel

Zell am See

Lovely hotel with very friendly and professional staff.  
Varied breakfast buffet each day (scrambled eggs were excellent) and dinner is buffet starter (choice of two soups plus salad and bread), main choice of three (generally meat, fish or veggie) and dessert. Quality of the food is the best I've had in a hotel at this price point. Nice friendly atmosphere in the dining room in the evenings, but no other communal areas.
Location is good.  A 5 mins (uphill) walk to the nearest gondola and easy bus to nearby resorts (Saalbach, Kaprun etc). Our room was on on the side street and there was a bit of noise from revellers at night and early morning church bells, street cleaning and rubbish collection.  If you're a light sleeper, then I suggest ear plugs.
Rooms were clean and comfy, but not a lot of storage space in ours though. Hot shower with shampoo/bodywash provided.
Wellness centre was closed due to damage when we there there so I cannot comment on the facilities.

Booked this hotel via Crystal Ski Holidays for our recent ski holiday in Austria. We chose it for its decent value, location ( the clue is in the name ) and it had pretty good reviews but we had to try it for ourself. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Elena who was dressed in the traditional austrian attire and she was a joy to be around, so helpful and friendly and managed to deal with multiple checkin guests with ease. In fact ALL the staff we met were a joy, Caitlin and Josh ( both from NZ) were always smiling and so helpful and easy to chat to. It is a charming old hotel with the perfect location in the old town. Ski hire shop is 10 yards away and it is 5 mins walk to the Cityxpress gondola where you can also pick up the Number 71 bus that takes you to the main ski areas as well  as Kaprun and Saalbach.

Rooms were perfect, large comfy beds and ours had a balcony with seating area outside. Nice little touches everywhere and even a drip tray under the coat hangers should your ski gear be wet and somewhere to store your boots. Talking of ski gear they have a dedicated boot room for guests to leave their skis and boot racks and the room is heated. 

Breakfasts were a mix of hot and cold continental with a fab coffee machine which saw some heavy use on our stay ! 
Half board meant you chose your evening meal main course in the morning and in the evening they served what you had chosen which was tasty every night and they were really helpful in dealing with my fussy veggie wife and her requests. 

Didnt have a change to use the onsite spa/wellness area as they sadly have a water leak that had meant it was out of order but we did have the opportunity to use their sister hotel's facilities if we wished. 
We didnt hear any street noise that other reviewers have mentioned but be warned if it snows ( and it did several times when we were there ) the snow ploughs operate at 5am to clear the streets so be aware of that. Cant be helped they need to clear the streets so its wasnt a major deal.

All in all it was the perfect hotel and so much so that we have booked for next year already.

The perfect location and staff were amazing...difficult to beat

This is the best ski hotel I have stayed in. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. 
The breakfast had lots of choice, the scrambled egg was amazing. The evening meals had a good choice of 3 main meals every night. We enjoyed each of our choices. 
The traditional entertainment on one night was a nice treat too.
Although the spa was temporarily not working the hotel ensured that this did not spoil our stay. We had the opportunity to visit another spa hotel or the local swimming pool. We also had extra drinks as compensation. This shows how much the hotel values the customers.
Our room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. The whole hotel was clean and well maintained.
The location was great, right in the centre. It was a short walk to the lift or to the buses to ski other resorts in the area.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we will be back next year.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff set the nicest tone which created a lovely vibe. Happy guests made for a great atmosphere. Couldn’t fault the room which was huge and kept really clean. The food of an evening was delicious and although the choice at breakfast was a little limited, it did the job and the scrambled egg was a highlight. The entertainment mid week was also really good fun. 
Have stayed in lots of nice hotels in Zell but this one would top the list. Special mention for Caitlin 💖, Josh, Dalibor and the lovely (funny) local lady whose name I can’t remember

Stellar stay

Fantastic location in the centre of Zell am See. Staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere at the hotel was very relaxed. Live entertainment was a bonus! 
The rooms were very spacious and cleaned daily. Great value for money. We will definitely visit again!
