Val d'Allos

We had a very unpleasant experience connected to an agreement about an apartment in La Foux: Les Résidences de Mélisa.
When ordering this agreement in November 2023 we wrote that we would have a late arrival, between 19 and 20 hours on 26 February when we should arrive in La Foux. We got a confirmation in December about the arrival time and the message ended with “Tout est normal aucun soucis” that is “Everything is normal no problems”.
On the day of arrival, 26 February 2024 we were on our way to La Foux, and the GPS showed that we had another 50 km and 50 minutes to go, when the telephone rang at 17:10 hours.
The representative in La Foux told us that they were now closing the office. When we asked where we could get the key, he told us that it was not possible because we were expected to pay a deposit and that was not possible because they closed the office promptly.
That is to say that we could not get the key because the people in question closed the office even if we had announced in November that it would be a late arrival. The consequence of this was that we had to find somewhere else to stay overnight. As we were not in the position to get the key we were also registered as “no show” meaning that we could not use the apartment during the week even though we had paid for that.
In our opinion this behaviour is not professional, it is not acceptable, and we have asked for the money paid to be reimbursed. However, hitherto the owners of the apartment have not answered to our letters and they have not paid back our rent for the week in question. 
An advice, if you are interested in this apartment, is not to pay anything in advance!
