Les Contamines-Montjoie

We stayed 1 night with a group of 5 friends. This was one of the best places we stayed while hiking. Largely because of the owners! (although the location is great as well - right off the hiking trail and a short walk into the small town nearby) The owners made us feel at home when we arrived and served snacks, wine and beer in a lovely outdoor garden area; then gave us great recommendations in town for a place my husband could get hiking poles and where we could have a nice dinner out. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. In the morning, they had our pack lunches ready, and after a quick breakfast we were on our way.  There was an option for a shuttle to the next trail head. They even helped one of our friends who opted to skip the next days' leg arrange an alternate hike and transportation to our next stop.
