What a charming little family run hotel. The hosts Sonia and Nico were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All the rooms are different but all done in French rustic style. They were warm and comfortable and the bathroom even had a heated  floor. The water was always hot and the cold water was cold and delicious. The food was gourmet standard, although dinner was a set menu which would not suit everyone. The hosts said if there was something we could not eat they would be able to provide an alternative. Breakfast had a huge range of delicious local produce, even the scrambled eggs were better than most hotels. There was a good selection on the wine list and wines were reasonably priced.The public areas were clean and warm with a large library, although most books were French! And even board games and a pool table was provided. It was right on the bus route where free busses were every few minutes to the ski lift and town centre. I can highly recommend this hotel as a base for skiing, the cable car was 3 minutes from the front door! The hotel can hire out skis and arrange lift passes.

Charming small family run hotel

We found this hotel to be good but with certain ‘quirks’ that really took the edge off. The location is a 2 min walk from the express gondala to Avoriaz which runs early until 9pm and Les Prodains is quiet so that suited is perfectly. The rooms were quite good, bathrooms not so good ( seals missing on the overbath screen meaning a flooded floor, one room had a shower with such a low ceiling that you could only really use if you sat in the bath), the towel rails were never hot or even like warm so nothing dried ready for the next use. Breakfast was a massive scramble, especially for the hot drinks machine as it only opened at 7.45am which is quite late if you have ski lessons in Avoriaz at 9. The hotel is a little tired around the edges, evidenced when you used the sauna or steam room for example, no lights in the sauna so you are just sitting in a hot wooden structure outside in the dark, no working lights again in the steam room shower. We had a set menu each evening which we generally really liked but it’s not for the faint hearted, wild boar, veal, fois gras, guinea fowl for example.  Although offered, we did feel a nuisance if we asked for an alternative option for some of the party. We have one celiac and one gluten free due to preference and both got poorly despite reassurances that all food was gluten free so they had to leave certain foods ( steak was served on bread?, sponge in the meringue? , we just didn’t feel comfortable to trust)
No hot drink facilities in the room and was slightly annoyed at the end of the stay to find that I had been charged €4 for every cup of hot water so we could have  lemsip a few times.  
Overall the hotel is nice but not relaxed enough for us to return

A real mixture of good and bad

The Hotel Neige et Roc is a charming and characterful chalet hotel located in Les Prodains, at the base of the Ardoisiere cliffs, half way between the ski resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz. The new Prodains Express ski lift is located just opposite the hotel, allowing our hotel guests to be on the pistes minutes after leaving their bedrooms. We offer dinner inclusive accommodation packages throughout the winter and summer seasons. Our bedrooms are a mixture of doubles, twins and family rooms, while our hotel restaurant is well regarded for it's use of locally sourced produce and delicious restaurant dishes. Many of our guests have been staying at the Hotel Neige et Roc for many years. They enjoy our high standards and our personal approach to guest care.
