Good location for getting main lift up to Avoriaz. 15 min free shuttle to morzine which stops at 21:00 thereafter you would need to get a taxi.

Hotel is traditional wooden chalet, central lounge and restaurant warm and cost. Energy saving lights means corridors are dark unless you press for light which makes these areas gloomy.

Rooms basic but comfortable beds, clean linen, nice balcony Mountain View from our room. Hot water for bath/shower can run out later in the day (common in mountain chalets) so need to get one in before dinner.

The main negative for us which would probably stop us going back is the food. It is a set 4-course menu served at 7.30 for all and there is no choice. All the food was cooked very well but the first evening for example the menu was bone marrow for starter (not for me), duck leg (I just don’t like duck but those who do said it was delicious), a soft cheese and then chocolate mousse. The other night we ate there was a goats cheese and fig parcel for starter, a delicious slow cooked beef for main then blue cheese (no thanks) and Iles flotants which is soft meringue served in thin cold custard (not for any of us). My partner cannot eat cheese, pork, chocolate and I had emailed the hotel over a week before, had no reply so followed up with a phone call - no answer so left a voicemail. When we arrived no one knew about this and on two nights we ate the serving staff were surprised and even told me I had to tell the staff in the morning! Breakfast is also ‘ok’ - mini pastries, scrambled eggs and sausages and usual cheese, ham, yoghurt, bread. Not bad but nothing special at all. Also breakfast runs from 7:30-9:30 but when I informed the staff that my wife would come down at 9 for breakfast, she told me to put 2 croissants on our table so she’d know not to clear them away. When my wife came down at 9am they’d been cleared away and there were no pastries left.

I think if you’re open to eating most things and especially traditional French dishes then you’d probably be quite happy. If you have adults or kids who are even slightly fussy you will find the lack of choice or adaptation very difficult. 

Overall we were satisfied with our stay but chose to eat out rather than eat at the pre-paid hotel restaurant on 2 out of 4 nights and would stay in Morzine where there is great nightlife and loads of choice to eat out.

We had an absolutely amazing family holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Lans. Aube and her team were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. With the hotel’s small size, we also got to know many of the other guests, which created a wonderfully warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere.

The hotel is perfectly located for skiing in Avoriaz, just a 9 minute walk to the Prodains lift, or you can simply catch the free bus that stops right outside every 15 minutes.

The food was exceptional! Breakfast offered a lovely continental spread with the bonus of scrambled eggs and sausages, while dinner was a delicious four course meal each evening, featuring traditional French dishes prepared to perfection.

Our room was spotless and comfortable, with great beds and pillows ensuring a good night’s sleep after a day on the slopes. The bar downstairs was great and we enjoyed spending time there before dinner each night, relaxing over a few drinks and playing some of the family games set out on the tables.

Thanks to Aube and her team, we had the best holiday and a truly wonderful Christmas at Les Lans. We’ll definitely be booking again in the future!

Hotel Les Lans in an absolute gem! A small hotel that is in the perfect position for getting early morning lift access into Avoriaz via the Prodains cable car. There are bus stops going into Morzine and to the Prodains cable car directly outside the hotel. We spent Christmas 2025 here and do not have a single complaint about the hotel. The service is excellent and the food is exceptional. The hotel is run by the brilliant owner Aube who was an excellent host. We would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.

The location is excellent being 10 minutes walk (or a short bus ride) from the Prodain bubble lift (which takes you quickly up to Avoriaz) and only a 15 minute bus ride into Morzine (if you need to shop or get a bit more apre ski choice). Good ski shop on the way to the bubble and a few places to get a post skiing drink. The hotel rooms are compact but the beds and pillows are comfy. Lots of hot water for showering. Usual hot and cold self service breakfast options. The evening meal comprised 3-4 fixed courses and was really good throughout the week. No complaints from us. We found the staff helpful. All in all an excellent choice for us. No hesitation in returning.

A great 3* hotel for a ski/snowboarding trip.
