When's the best time to book a ski holiday to the Dolomites?
The Dolomite ski season runs from early December through to late April, with peak snow reliability tending to range from mid-January to March. Dolomites ski holidays continue to be incredibly popular, so booking six to nine months ahead gets you the best choice of apartments, chalets, and hotels, especially over peak periods like Christmas, New Year and February half-term.
Is it expensive to ski in the Dolomites?
Compared with the other big-name French and Swiss resorts, the Italian Dolomites generally offer better value for lift passes, food and accommodation, while still delivering some of the most dramatic skiing in Europe.
Costs vary a lot by resort and by how far in advance you book - Alta Badia and Cortina sit at the pricier end, while Val di Fiemme and Val Gardena tend to be gentler on the wallet. Though by making use of self-catered apartments for meals, you may find stays at any of these resorts work out cheaper than half-board hotels.
