Welcome to walking in Stubaital

  • 100 peaks over 3,000m — and a glacier to boot
  • Where families and serious hikers feel equally at home
  • Short flight, short transfer — perfect for a long weekend
Five villages, 100+ peaks, and zero excuses not to go - Stubaital walking holidays are jaw-droppingly beautiful and just 30 minutes from Innsbruck.
Stubaital hiking holidays draw some of Europe's best hikers with an array of glittering glaciers and high-alpine routes. Four cable car networks unlock a series of Alps trails across Austria's Stubaier Gletscher, Schlick 2000, Serlesbahnen, and Elferbahnen. Highlights include the Seven Summits, WildeWasserWeg, Stubai High Trail, and the Sunnenseit'n Weg panoramic.
And don't think the kids will be left out - explore the mountain adventure zones, go for a splash at StuBay Waterpark, or head on over to the Elferbahn, the gateway to Tirol's longest natural toboggan run - “wheeeeeee!”

How to get around Stubaital

How our self-guided Stubaital walking holidays work:

Our self-guided trips let you set your own pace, from the length of your stay, to how far you walk each day. But if you’re used to group or guided holidays, you might be wondering how you’ll get around? Well, it’s easy…

Getting to and around the resort:

Your transfer is included with your trip. Once there, you'll find the resort highly walkable and pedestrian-friendly, with easy access to two local cable cars — the ideal jumping-off points for hikes higher up the mountain.

Getting to your walks and hikes:

The Stubaitalbahn tram runs between Fulpmes and Innsbruck as does the 90 bus line from Mutterberg — both free with your Summer Card.
Your Summer Card also covers a free cable car ascent and descent each day — perfect for reaching high-altitude viewpoints without the legwork!
