Well appointed, sunny, decently sized room. Good breakfast, very good dinner. Nice wellness area with sauna, hamam, solarium, and pool. Polite owner/ receptionist/all around person. Some of the staff are very helpful.

But: The hotel is clearly understaffed, and is not terribly well-maintained (peeling paint, microwave in room didn't work, stick-on room numbers missing digits, spa lacks any staff). Common areas are small, very plain, and in disarray (the rec room). The rec room had a TV with zero channels, not even broadcast. The receptionist explained that they only got it to show ski and football events, and nothing else :) 

We didn't have hot water when we arrived, it started working after a half-hour and two calls (after we'd showered with cold water.) The hotel, being in a village with zero restaurants, offers no food (room service, bar, anything, not even sandwiches or salads) between breakfast and dinner. We were stuck in our room for two days and had literally nothing to eat (see below on Telfes). The first day we had to beg for a plain pasta dish. The funniest thing is they appeared surprised and inconvenienced that we asked...

It's very far from being a true 4-star property, and it is very far from justifying 500 euros a night, or even 300 euros a night, for a 27-30 sq m double room with a small kitchen area (a studio, it's called) in an out of the way village (even if it's close to a nice, smallish ski area).

Location is terrible unless you have a car. There is literally nothing in the village of Telfes, especially over a weekend. No restaurant, no one in the extended area delivers, no doctor or pharmacy, infrequent buses, taxis that can take an hour to arrive from two villages over and cost 25euros to go 5-6 km. 

I would not go back. For said skiing areas, I'd stay in another village, a bit more visitor friendly.

Poor value for money, problematic location
