Second time here, still remains good value for a ski-in, ski-out self-catered stay. Friendly staff, good facilities at the hotel (bar and restaurants), and comfortable apartments. The apartments are warm, clean and comfortable with just enough for all your needs. They would benefit from a freshen up of the decor perhaps, but for the price they are well recommended.

Great location, facilities were modern enough to cook your own food and enough space for 6. However the lockers to keep our equipment in was too small for 6 snow boards and boots, had to keep half in the room


Ski holiday

We had a really good stay with two couples. Spacious and fully equipped. Perfect location near the center of the skilifts. Parking underneath the apartment (for 22 euros/day) was very comfortable. 
The only problem was that we couldnt get the temperature of the appartment down, even when all the heaters were turned off. So that was bad sleeping. And in the entrance downstairs it smelled like sewage. We had a little of bad luck to have the apartment under the roof so we had only a small balcony and little daylight inside. 

Perfect location on the slopes

We were a group of 7 and in January 2026 via Crystal, stayed in the Village Montana apartments (actually called Granier (I assume the Hotel Montana owners bought the apartments)). We paid for a Half Board upgrade.
Breakfast was in the hotel and incredibly good and varied. For dinner there was a choice of 4 restaurants, all seemingly affiliated with the Montana Hotel as each one had a Half Board section in their menus. This did mean the choice was more limited, but there was choice nonetheless.
The apartments were a good size, very clean and tidy.
The apartments building had its own boot room with lockers for each apartment and had a door leading outside, making it ski in / ski out. The door was about 50 metres to the Almes chair lift

Apartment with Half Board upgrade - Would definitely stay again

Good aspects were:
Genuinely was ski in / ski out
Boot room efficient and boots dry every morning
Plenty of hot water and apartment very warm. 
Plenty of hanging space for ski gear in the apartment .
We rented a 6 person apartment for 4 of us, pleased we did as the extra room was helpful. 

Downsides:
Apartment not properly cleaned. This is mentioned in nearly every review, yet nothing seems to change. 
Oven filthy ( I did tell reception and someone cleaned it the next day ), lots of crockery dirty and needed washing before use. Old bits of food in saucepans. Microwave dirty with old food . 
Made the mistake of looking under a bed to retrieve lost earring …… old tissues , bottle tops and dust.
No welcome pack for the kitchen , gave up after asking at reception and just bought all the cleaning things myself.
Don’t bother renting apartment with fire, impossible to light even with kindling and fire  lighters. 
Couldn’t see any smoke alarms/ fire extinguishers, sprinklers in the apartment .
We had a great holiday in spite of all of the above . I think it’s a shame as these apartments have a lot going for them and could be so much better with some basic cleaning and maintenance.

Could be so much better

Special menus are available for children. A SPAR mini-market is also available. Receptionists are available 24 hours a day to organise activities for families or couples.
