The Mattmarkblick hotel was a super welcoming base for a day of winter hiking to the nearby Mattmark dam. The house is simple but has large rooms and plenty of thick duvets against the cold nights. The a la carte dinner had plenty of choices, including a very nicely prepared entrecote. The breakfast was plentiful before a day of hiking. The stay’s highlight were the lovely staff members, chatty and super welcoming.

Be sure to come here; wonderfull owner, service, almost family atmosphere, delicious food, monumental mountain surroundings, sun, skiing, walks. Perfect holiday far from the tumult, noise and troubles.

Good breakfast, convenient parking space in front, good area for winter activities ( we did skiing and also snowshoe walks).
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel offered for free snowshoes to explore a nice path not far from the hotel.

The Hotel Mattmarkblick is situated in the centre of Saas-Almagell. Our family-friendly Skiing and Hiking Hotel is ideal for guests who appreciate a homely feel, modern rooms and an excellent cuisine. They value in particular the hotel's central location, the rustic restaurant, the large sun terrace, the weekly entertainment evenings in the main village square and the guided walks with the hotel owner.
