I’m not usually one for writing reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves one.

I was solo-parenting with my 6-year-old daughter and wanted to introduce her to the fun of the snow, so I chose to stay somewhere I’d been before. From arrival to departure, everything was simply fantastic.

The service was first-class across the board, and a huge shout-out goes to a few people who truly went above and beyond. Freya greeted us every day with the biggest smile, Philip and Novac made dinner a real highlight with their warmth and fun, and a massive thank you to top chef Theo for the outstanding, varied cuisine. He was especially wonderful with my daughter, taking such great care of her (very fussy!) dietary requirements and even making friends with her.

Thank you all for such a memorable stay.

We stayed as part of a group of sixteen persons. The Hotel is lovely, facilities are great, the food is amazing and apres is BANGING. Great location.  The staff are exceptional, particular mentions for Raphael, Freya, Nelli, Esther, Dylan, Samuel, Novak and Theo.

Wow! The hotel exceeded our expectations! What a fantastic New Years ski trip. The staff certainly make this hotel a great place to stay. Fantastic food with plenty of options, amazing pizzas and a great atmosphere for apres ski too! New Year’s Eve was a wonderful event where everyone went above and beyond. Thank you to Raphael and his team who work so hard to make sure everyone is having the best time!  We were a group of 12 with age ranges 19-54 and feel there was something for everyone.

What a shame and a disappointment.

First impressions were very positive. The hotel felt cozy with a great atmosphere in the bar/lounge area, a quirky décor, and a good central location. However, I would not class this hotel as ski-in/ski-out.

Unfortunately, the stay quickly went downhill. On arrival, we had five minutes to spare before the restaurant closed for the set menu. Reception assured us there was no need to rush, as pizzas were available until 10:30 pm. After taking our cases to the room, we went straight to the restaurant to order pizzas, only to be told they had run out. The only option left was the main menu, costing €70 for the family.

The following day, we were informed there was no butter for the bread, no Coke as the machine wasn’t working, and they were out of several bottles of wine, Prosecco, and even draft beer. Availability throughout the stay was extremely limited.

During the gala evenings with a set menu, we were told the children were not allowed to order from the pizza menu. Sadly, this hotel does not cater well for children. While the food itself is good, the choice is very limited — typically one main option, one pizza, and one vegetarian option.

The rooms were also very noisy. Chairs scraping on the floor above were particularly disruptive, and my children on the lower floor struggled to sleep because of this. In addition, the hotel is located on a busy bar road, with significant noise from neighboring bars at closing time.

Through no fault of the bar staff, service was very slow due to understaffing, resulting in long waits for drinks. The ski boot room is also far too small for the number of guests; on several occasions, our boots were moved by other guests due to lack of space.

This hotel has great potential, but it needs some fairly small operational changes to significantly improve the guest experience. The staff were very accommodating and apologetic throughout our stay — at times it was honestly embarrassing for them to have to repeatedly explain what was not available.

Disappointment

Langley Hotel Tango is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Val Thorens, offering a charming environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. Rooms at Langley Hotel Tango provide a flat screen TV, and guests can stay connected with free wifi.
