No frills self-catering accommodation in the very centre of Meribel (this is not a hotel). We stayed in ‘studio for 6’, in theory 6 people could sleep here but it’s a very small studio and with one small bathroom and limited cupboard space and a tiny kitchen, we found it it just comfortable enough for 2 adults and a 15 yr old. Ideal if you’re on a budget and Meribel is pretty expensive. We didn’t use the veranda much but it was very handy to dry clothes out on and had a nice view across the valley. Wi-Fi is fine but TV isn’t a smart TV (so no Netflix etc). Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is the big plus in the centre of this picturesque town surrounded by great restaurants and a little supermarket across the road, choice of 10 min walk to the main lifts or a few minutes walk to an escalator opposite onto a blue run or cross the road for a super regular free shuttle buses to the lifts or to all the surrounding areas (get the 3 Valleys app for real time schedule). There was a noisy group of young people which kept us up one night, I’d imagine this is worse in peak season. Even at end of season there was some good skiing though in afternoon the snow was getting slushy (better for snowboarders), amazing variety of pistes and a huge area, biggest in Europe apparently.

Location is perfect for skiers, in the city center just 30 meters away from the escalator that leads to the ski area. Price is affordable for the Three Valleys but the mini apartment is equipped with just the very essential so you need to bring your own stuff (soap, paper, trash bags, etc.)

I hope as many people as possible are able to read this review and save themselves from a stay here. 

On a positive note I would say Les Ravines was 
A) well located 
B) had a good stock of cutlery and 
C) was relatively clean

Other than that it was AWFUL. 

The apartments are TINY. The kitchen is 1,5 metres square. The bathroom is about 2 metres square. I can only describe the decor as 'prison chic' if there were such a thing. The main/master double bed is a PULL DOWN BED IN THE LIVING AREA. If you pull the bed down you have to move the table and chairs to the side - meaning (A) you have no space to move and (B) no living area or sofa.  The 2 "extra beds" are a small bunk bed by the front door and opposite the bathroom. It is bearable for 2, but a nightmare for 4 (unless your children are very young). 

Given the ridiculous price tags for this (?!), you are also expected to make up your beds (put the linen on yourself) and remove the linen at the end of your stay??!!??!!

FURTHER WARNING: People are allowed to bring PETS. So our neighbours (a family of 3)  would kindly go out skiing all day and leave the dog barking and whining. (Friends of our 2 floors above could hear it). The reception staff said they would speak to the owners. That clearly did not happen.  

Also in the 5 days we were there the reception was open 3 times for only a few hours each time. 

Thank goodness our stay is behind us.
