My partner, 2 year old child and myself booked to use the pool facilities, and sauna.

Before arriving we prepared to bring swimming nappies, swimming outfit for our child. After paying €20 to use the gondola to arrive to the restaurant/spa we were our of nowhere told that kids under 6 are not allowed in the pool because they could make 'a mess'.

First of all this is ridiculous as we take our child swimming once a week since he was literally a baby and because he has worn his swimming nappy he has never made a mess and neither the other 100 children he has ever swam with.

Second of all the website in english states that kids under 6 are to be supervised in the sauna and that jumping etc. is not allowed. The man at the front desk explained that the english translation is not good and has not been written properly.

Finally we also had a reservation for 6.30pm which we then also had to cancel as we had obviously arrived way too early before that because we wanted to use the facilities.

Overall very disappointed with the incorrect information, and the overall time spent and wasted where we could have gone by bus or taxi to another place to swim with our child but instead had our time wasted and plans ruined for the day in a short holiday.

The only thing that was good is that the man at the front desk refunded our gondola cost, but to be honest that's the least they should have done.

I do not advise anyone with children under 6 to visit this place for spa facilities

Such a treat coming all the way from sunny South Africa ! Ruka Peak hotel boasts some of the best views in Kuusamo ! if you are looking for an authentic experience , look no further. The most incredible breakfast made with love , breathtaking views , cosy rooms. Sanna , the owners daughter is just the most lovely , helpful person & she made it feel like home. She helped us book experiences & so much more! I loved every single minute spent here & was teary to leave ! family run boutique hotel. Can't fault. The jacuzzi, sauna experience is one of the best moments one could ever imagine with the views out of a dream.

Finland done right !

Been here 3 times. Amazing experience. Food is heavenly and best in ruka area. Rooms are clean, and the view is one of a kind. You should visit this place any time of the year if its open. You can go to jacuzzi and watch the sun set from the mountain. Staff is so friendly and flexible if your plans change. Theyll remember how you like your coffee in the morning etc. little things. Atmosphere is very relaxing, like in a spa. Not expensive, and if the prices feel high for you, i guarantee you get good service for the price.

Best place in ruka

We booked our stay last minute but could not be more delighted we chose to stay here. Lovely atmosphere and beyond excellent customer service! Definitely recommending the hotel and its services. Hope to visit soon again!

I visited this family owned boutique hotel on my trip to Lapland. I have to say this place is AMAZING!!! So lovely stay in their small cozy hotel of eight rooms and what a restaurant they have downstairs! Truly recommend for people who appreciate 5star luxury holiday at the top of Ruka-hill.
